I got this lovely MOC off Iain the other day and noticed the original price was quite steep at $3.97. I think this is the priciest price tag I have on a MOC (forgetting exchange rates in 1983!). Can anyone top it?

I don't know exchange rates and things but could that be Australian or Canadian (it might work the other way). Very steep for the US

Yeah, could be from down under, although I assumed USA as it was from Iain?

People trade worldwide these days. Could easily have come from Oz which might explain the price tag. I can only speak for the UK but figures tended to be around the same price wherever you went. Somewhere between £1.00 - £1.50 over the years. Never saw them more expensive than that. Can't see why that would be any different elsewhere. I'm guessing Kenner had a pricing guide for retailers

The Bikerscout MOC on the above link has a £1.99 sticker which is probably the most I've seen UK wise.

This one looks pretty expensive at $2.99 USD being from 78/79

This is from a POTF Lando General, Circus World was owned by KayBee so the $3.49 is definitely USD, he would have been at full price in 84/85

These are from an Ewoks Logray and a Droids Kea Moll and are again USD, both would have been on sale at full price in 85.

In April 1983 $3.79 US was £2.77 GBP. Pricey back then! Not as bad an exchange rate as we are in for now :x

Pretty sure that is a US price - have seen a few others circa 1983-5 at that price as well

Will have to dig some out !

This is only a cardback but David Jones is an Australian retailer
and these high price stickers are not unusual on our cards

Good old David Jones, ripping off kids since 1983. Nice one Paul, always cool to see some Aussie price stickers.

Lowest I can go is 49 cents on an ERG baggie that was sold through a Sears catalogue outlet store, will sort a pic later

Other than that you'll struggle to beat KayBee and their 2 for $1 or the Woolies 8 pack at 99p

Edit: Must stop talking about baggies on MOC threads

I can throw in a pricetag from "Puppenkönig".
Currency here is Deutsche Mark, but might be slightly over 5 bucks.

I have a Jedi carded Biker Scout by Palitoy with a 4.95 price tag but I'm not sure what currency :?:
Show us your sticker! Someone might be able to identify the retailer and then from that the currency :D

Bloody hell. I'd love to know roughly the wholesale price of a MOC. I know it would depend on volume, etc. but a general figure. I like to think the retailers weren't shafted but no doubt the small indie shops weren't able to compete with Woolies!
