Feeling disillusioned with FB groups...

Hi folks,
Im not looking to start it all up again, or look for sympathy, or start any more arguments but im feeling quite fragile after the drubbing and comments I got after trying to get the practice of bleaching and selling stormtrooper etc banned. The group had a vote, and although lots of people agreed with me, more thought the practise was fine. So it is too continue.
Most of the comments were well though out and I agree the jury is still out on it but most of the comments were from new collectors who know little.
im quite saddened by this and wondering if my FB days are over...

I must have missed something?! I'm not a member of any FB groups, but as long as it's fully disclosed that it has been bleached, then I guess it wouldn't be a problem for most as it's down to the buyer to decide. As for me, I wouldn't buy one that has been bleached - I personally like to keep it natural. Funnily enough, I wondered why there were some minty white Stormtroopers on eBay - Now I know

I think if I spent more time on here I would eventually find it as easy to use as fb. Need to find my mojo again after feeling a bit of despair the way collecting is going. But yes, mob mentality is correct.

I do continually find myself getting anoyed with many of the "experts" on there. I blame the admins 100%. They know how many unscrupulous sellers there are out there and they allow this carry on when they should be putting their foot down. They pretend their pages are a democracy when it suits them and then play God when they feel like it.

Can't wait for the drama when someone sells a bleached figure to someone undisclosed.

You can't beat the smell of domestos in the morning, or peroxide or whatever the **** they use.

There will always be SWFUK. The Facebook groups are ok but they often are full of; show offs, people with more money than sense and f##ktards

Come and join 'vintage Star Wars action figures' where bleaching has been outlawed since Nov 2013.

It's my way or the highway...

FB seems to attract idiots by the bucket load.

Then again we are talking about the same platform that allows people to notify the world of what they're just had for breakfast and helps them communicate with there mates in the pub :(

Social network, pfff

I am a memeber of that page Jason but I don't go on it too often as it's got too many members!
I prefer specialised smaller groups where there is a bit of a community.
Your name was mentioned in the echo base anti bleaching thread. When I saw it I thought it may carry some kudos to the cause but nooo....

Hey Pantzman, Star Wars is about redemption. You'll be fine mate.
Don't look back look forward, and look into this great forum, I'm sure you'll enjoy a fresh perspective.
Lots of info on here to see which is easily searchable.
There's a place in the collecting world for Facebook, but if people only used that medium and not the forums, they'd be missing out big time.
Welcome
Edited cuz I left the T out of yer pants!
