I think I remember you saying your last figures melted under the stairs in bags. So I understand why you are trying to keep your new batch safe and clean.
I think you can't go wrong if you buy some of the display cases from the forum. It will work out alot cheaper for you and protect your figures.

I think that's a great idea.
Also if you're moving them around gently you should be okay, it's mainly when they're in transit or if you drop the case the damage to the paint could occur, not just by picking them up and looking at them.

I have a few AFA graded loose figures and some are loose in the case and I pick them up now and again and if you're gentle then the figure if it does touch the case it isn't hard enough to to cause paint rub. I've actually seen more paint rub on the carded figures within the bubble.
