Pound at 38 year low

Just read on the news that the pound is at just $1.1, its lowest since 1985! and it reminded me of all the amazing bargains I was getting in the 00s when it was almost $2 to the pound. Can anyone remember their best cross-Atlantic buys? How about $27 USD including international shipping, £13.50 all in at the time, for an ESB 47 back Bespin Security Guard?

Or how about $136.06 all in (about £75) for a 65 back Boba Fett!

I spoke to my partner about this the other day when it wasn't quite as low. I used to regularly pick stuff up stateside and either get it shipped direct or via the GSP (before they went above and beyond to ruin it).

A few highlights from memory would include a mailed out emperor mailer for a smidge under £20, an ESB CCP for around £35 and a Trilogo Emperor & Anakin (although **** packing caused Anakin to arrive escaped from his bubble) for under £70 the pair.

All of them between 2013 & 2015 I'd say.

To think you probably still moaned about the vat or RM handling fee

I would have said you over paid for that Boba Fett at the time. Unbelievable Jeff! I got a 41 Back E Leia Organa AFA 75 for just over £120 posted from Australia back in 2006. At the time I thought it was about right! Still have it.
