Fair enough and I'm not one to judge - but Final Frontier Toys and Brian's Toys have had them for sale at much cheaper prices over the last couple of years. They have some reasonably priced rarer Palitoy MOCs from time to time as I don't think they always get the rarity nuances. Still waiting for BT to get another Han Hoth 45A after Gary stole the last one from them :lol:

That's fair enough, cool that it ended up in a collection rather than being graded and flipped - although there would be no meat left on it if it was.
Like you say, when you're looking for that elusive piece to complete a run you're prepared to go all in to get it so whilst it was a bit punchy on the price , I can appreciate the desire and drive to get it.

Bob Brechin Palitoy designer opened a sealed box of AM frogmen whilst we were there - a great moment, and you can see Dave Barnacle in the pic - Palitoy artist and who's son appears on the Death Star box amongst others. His wife was there too, a really nice couple.

For the next auction Lee - the frogmen were only opened as the rubber may have perished and Vectis needed to know how to pitch them. The soldiers were kept sealed for the last lot as they didn't have similar issues

The MOCs look to be mostly duplicates from last time and there's one Death Star this time (4 to come).

Only a handful of Action Man items (30), of which some are Action Force.

Does a modest collector like myself have any chance with these auctions?

I was wondering about leaving a few bids but I'm a bit unsure about not knowing the post & packing costs up front, which along with the commission, could mean a lot more money involved.

Just ring them up and ask them for an estimate for the P&P. It's never been more than about £15 for 2 or 3 MOCs forme. I'm not sure about the boxed stuff but I'm sure they'll help you out - they send out hundreds of things so they'll have a good idea for an estimate.

Totally agree.

Let's watch these auctions closely. He only got the Han Hoth cheap because there was a glitch in the auction at the time:

Han Hoth £768 inc.commission Lets add on say £30 for Postage and insurance, then say £50 for AFA. Call it £850. He'd have to clear £1000 through ebay before he starts to make a profit.

Luke Bespin £1240 inc comm + £30 + £50 = £1320. He'd have to clear say £1,500.

Leia Bespin £1364 +£30+ £50 =£1444. He'd have to clear around £1630.

I'd be surpised if he makes a profit on them but we'll see.

Looks like he made a profit unfortunately....

Don't necessarily agree with it, but you can hardly blame him. Most of us, we'll I am, are working class and need to buy and sell to make a few bob here and there.
People will always pay a premium for that sticker that states 85, like it or not, that's a fact....
