Thanks for the positive comments. Been collecting for a while now so thought it was time to share. Have enjoyed checking out other peoples collections on here. Re the cabinet, I just wanted something that fitted the figure size exactly and looked a bit Star Warsy. The radiator covers were £10 for two packs in wickes and got a can of black spray paint for £7.50 in halfords. I might put a mirror in the back, I had them in a medical cabinet with a mirror in it and it looks wicked, you can see the back of the figures.

I was thinking subtle lighting under the shelves. Some orange LED's boxed in underneath each one. Reckon that would look amazing 8)

Yeah interesting you should say that mate, I have been thinking about lighting. The shelves are made from sheet metal and curved over at the edges so they would conceal a length of led's quite nicely. Was thinking I could drill holes through the side of the cabinet to put the cable through and then hide them in a thin tube going down the side so it looks a bit industrial. Maybe weather the whole thing so it looks a bit beat up. Not sure but I don't think it's finished yet!

Been looking into the lighting. If you look at the Khetana sail barge thread I got some ideas there. Ordered some off Ebay for not much. Just need the shelving now. Struggling to find anything cheap on the internet though. Did you get these from Wickes recently?

Yeah I got the radiator covers in Wickes a few months ago. They were the same price, 10 quid per pack for whichever size so I got the long ones and then cut them with a hacksaw to the size I needed. Got four shelves with holes in and one solid one from two packs. Then rubbed them down and sprayed them. I'm going to prob get white led's and rig them with a dimmer switch.

Hey Jez, thanks mate. I do get a lot of enjoyment out of my collecting and I'm happy with the way it's going. This forum's great, it's cool to have some contact with people who get what you're about. Indeed - Star Wars for life! .. (and West Ham Utd!) :D

I have bought quite a few figures in the last few months since joining the forum so I thought I would reshuffle my cabinet, bring everything to the front so it looks a bit more full and do a little update. Have scored a few moc lately as well so will re-photo my whole collection at some point. Getting there with the loose and really enjoying it. The bastard 17 awaits me :p

Nice collection Rob. Fantastic photo's.

Quick question. How have you attached a cover/door to the figure cabinet?? I have a similar shape cabinet that I want to add a cover/door to but not sure how I am going to do it.

Hello mate, thanks. It was doing my head in deciding how to do the door. Was going to try and make a proper door with hinges etc but was too much hassle. In the end I went for a bit of perspex the exact size of the cabinet (I made it 600mmx800mm, standard poster size) and glued and screwed 90 degree plastic bead around three sides of the cabinet leaving enough gap for the Perspex to slide into. Then put a fourth length on the perspex itself to make it look like it goes all the way round like a frame. Hard to explain, heres a few photos;

I could only get white bead so I sprayed it. I didn't glue actually, I used that hardcore no more nails double sided sticky tape stuff. The perspex is 3mm thick. Hope this helps dude, might give you a few ideas :)

That is actually pretty neat. Like you have been thinking of hinges but too much hassle.

That's Rob, will look into the way you have done it.

I've got quite a few other random vintage and modern bits and other vintage toys, Transformers etc. I've really enjoyed the collecting even more lately since being on the forum. I've bought quite a lot of loose and carded figures in the last few months. I'm not really going for complete runs at the moment except for a loose set. I'm just collecting the stuff I like and getting my favourite figures on Jedi cards, because they're the cheapest and the cards I mostly had as a kid.
