FAO Lego collectors
Last year a lovely chap who was a family friend who always offered to help anybody selflessly, sadly got a brain tumour and died recently. He'd had a troubled life, lived with his grandparents and was the only grand child and spoilt rotten with star wars lego (and other lego). His death was very sad but he was fundraising for the local church almost to the night he sadly lost his battle. Cancer had consumed most of his brain, and was going down his spine. He died quickly once he entered hospital. But he was never down about it, and at 19 you would never know he was so ill. Its something thats deeply shocked this very small local community here. But people are using his spirit to deal with it. He was certainly not somebody to mope or feel sorry for himself. A lovely lad called Ashley.
I've been helping the family get all his equipment sorted, unlocking and wiping hard drives of laptops tablets. Hes got Ds's galore. xboxes, etc. Endless..
But its the lego. I went into the room today and straight in front of me was a mostly assembled Lego Tantive IV, then I found a box of a star destroyer, then came minifigs, clone wars, AOTC ships, etc etc. Boxes and boxes of lego, star wars.. I found a jabba, Han Solo, and then an entire hoard of minifigs and further ships. KEpt going on. Apparently there's a shop display in the loft.. Most of the stuff has boxes, maybe not the instructions (ive found those online).
Kath, the grandmother, doesnt want somebody just walking away with a box of lego for nowt, I'm hoping she can get some money and maybe honour Ashley with the cash. I've volunteered to take on the task of helping sorting out this hoard of lego then finding buyers for it. I'm hoping some of you guys can either be buyers, or point me in the right direction.
