Recevied my first kellerman book from wankbay today ( no one from here ), it arrived in a padded mailer bag and being such a heavy book this happened:

I've messaged the seller stating my disappointment and asking if he has any suggestions of how he can make it right. I'm not a picky bastard but the book wasn't cheap and I honestly don't beleive that due to his lack of care that I should have to just cop it.

Would you guys pack a book such as this with some sort of cardboard protection? I sure would.

Am I being too picky? Am I a pain in the arse? What would you fellas do in the same situation?

Cheers Ryan

Yeah I agree it's ruined it aesthetically speaking but as a book it's still fine. I have no intention of selling it but I'd say the value has been diminished as well.

I thought about sending it back but I fully resent having to cover the cost of return postage.

I always send any books I sell in padded envelopes but always put a sheet of thick cardboard either side of the book that is bigger than the book itself to protect it. Havent had a problem so far.

Im like Rich and a bit of a book snob, although I prob wouldnt send the book back but I would want some reinbursment for the damage.

I am not much of a book person but the few I have bought through Amazon have been sent very poorly packed. ie Gus & Dunc' book was quite damaged in transit. But seeing as the Kellerman book is IMO a collectable and not just a book I would request a partial refund the equivalent of registered return postage.

if you open an ebay case and say it will cost too much to return ebay send you a pre-paid label for your local postal service and they charge it to the seller.
you ask the seller to nicely cover your postage costs or open a case against him and ebay will charge him £15 for parcelforce ect delivery lol

Well blow me down, he's fully accepted responsibility for the damage and has offered a full refund for return or a %50 refund and I keep the book. I've accepted the partial refund which he's already sent but it hasn't shown up in my Paypal account yet, anyone know how long it takes for refunds?

On another note I'm really surprised just flicking through to see that they decided not to include Yak Face as a part of the loose figure set. Also no mention of Toltoys 12 backs. I'm never happy great book and look forward to many hours of reading.

Yes it does mate . Look under foreign uses of American cards but I just realised that the Toltoys 12 back is believed to have been a wholly Australian production so it's probably why it's not listed.

50% refund? Top stuff! Well done Ryan that is a happy ending for a change. I think you were right to ask for a partial refund as well, the damage might not be much to some but many of us like to keep our stuff in great condition (even books!) and if you pay top dollar you do at least expect a box so it doesn't get devalued by being damaged in the post.

Not picky at all. I agree with Joe, minimum 50% refund or get all your money back. If you wanna send an expensive heavy book in an envelope it's gonna get damaged. Some cardboard folded around it would have prevented this. It really is a basic obligation of the seller to package their sale in such away that it arrives undamaged.

Totally agree with Pete there, As the seller. like any business/company you are responsible for ensuring total customer satisfaction! You are obliged to ensure the the item paid for with hard eaned cash is protected and reaches the buyer in tip top condition. if the item is damaged then it devalues immediately and it is therefor not the same item the buyer has paid for.
The book is not just a great read but it is a collectable too!
The seller in this case sounds like a good egg and im glad your satisfied with the outcome to a degree.
If the seller had made every effort to protect the item and it still got damaged then thats just bad luck i suppose. but in this instance the seller was just ignorant or lazy!

Have the funds shown up in your account yet? If you paid by your Paypal balance (ie you had funds to cover the price of the book) the refund should show normally within a few minutes. However if you paid through Paypal but had no funds in your account and the payment was taken from a Credit Card for example the refund will show on your next Credit Card statement and not on your Paypal account.
