Posted this up on Rebelscum but as seems to be the norm on there if you only post occassionally you get pretty much ignored

...so...if anyone has any ideas on this yoda snake it would be good. I tend to think it's repro as the head is deformed/sqaushed (made like this - poor mould?) But, it is not painted and the plastic is quite plyable/bendy unlike the stiffer plastics used on all the repros i've seen.

Can anyone shed any light?

Not saying its definitely real but I had a yoda snake which had a bit of its head badly formed- not sure if I have a picture but it definitely looked like a bad mould impression, as half the face as almost like yours, gone! LOL

Ask Coco for some help ? I am sure out of his 100 snakes he could find one that looks like yours, one other thing, perhaps its just been worn off? Does it look like anyone has played with it or damaged it?

I tried to help :) What's the underneath look like? Any mold circles? As for your Luke Bespin. Are there any leg markings at all? It's not on the COO variation RS thread

Hi Lee,

At a glance I would say repro because of the deformed head but after comparing it to an original, I would say original with deformed head :? . The markings on the Snake look good, as does the colour and shape but the head is completely wrong as all production snakes have eyes etc ,only one I have seen like that before was a metallic repro.

If you like you can forward it to me and I'll take a closer look and forward it back.

Coco.

P.S I saw your post on RS the other day but couldn't reply because I was in work and can't sign on the forum

If it is soft and bends just like an original I would go with Coco - original with a ****ed up head, like I said I am certain I had one that had half his detail missing, can't find a picture at the mo but still digging around.

looks real enough to me.

Like the others say surely its just a bad moulding, i cant imagine the staff took too much care when they were knocking these out in their 100,000's!

the thing is guys the longer it goes on the better repros will get and next thing you know you cant tell the feckin difference

The snake looks good apart from the head. That sorta suggests to me that it's original. Why would a repro maker get 95% of it so close, & the the head soooo wrong? Especially if it feels right.

The plastic just didn't fill the mould completely! No biggie IMO it would happen when the machine that injects it gets low, you would think anyway.

Cheers for all the input guys. Sounds pretty conclusive to me. It's been sitting in my bag of repros for a couple of years but i always thought it might by genuine vintage so it's going in with all my Yodas 8)

Good to see you back Lee, it's been a while mate
Cheers burnsy - i'm just lazy at posting :) I'm always checking in just rarely posting. My loose variants are expanding more and more plus i'm gathering a few spares that i need to put up for trade/sale soon.

I will put up some pics/info on the Luke in the other thread. I am intrigued by it as well because it isn't on wolff's coo thread. I'm sure Uli was after one in his loose wants - hopefully he will chime in on this thread with more details on it's origin.
