I'm thinking about getting an XBox 360 at Christmas now the prices have come down to a fairly reasonable price so I was wondering if anyone else has one and if they have had any problems? :?

One of my friends got his on the day of release, uses it for hours each day and never had a problem with it but another friend has had to get his repaired 3 times and apparently they are well known for breaking down. :evil:

I don't get much time to play games so I don't want to waste Ã'£200+ on something that is more hassle than it's worth !! :lol:

I have a PS3 and really am tempted by the Elite, if they do a Halo package near Christmas it might sway me.

My brother got one about a year ago but it buggered up a couple of months back. Cause he didn't have any type of extended warranty he just borrowed his mate's receipt and exchanged it for a new one :mrgreen:

Apparently even the Elite suffers from the same "3 red rings of death" as Microsoft didn't bother to add any fans or modify the power supply to stop them from over heating. :x

I was tempted by the Wii but some of the graphics are a bit too childlike and they don't have Pro Evo for that machine !!

I think I'll try to wait to see if the PS3 drops in price after Christmas or I could get an XBox and if it goes wrong get it replaced and trade it in for a PS3 !! :lol:

The new batches of 360's that are coming out all have updated insides and hdmi cables as standard but it wont be specified on the box (so they can get rid of all the old stock).
Allso as of about 1 month ago microsoft has now given all 360's a 3 year warrenty (provided you still have the recipt).

I have been playing call of duty 4 beta reciently and it truley is the best online game i have ever played.
I cant recomend a 360 high enough. But you really need a big hd tv to do it justice.

someone will figure out a way to chip it sooner or later so it will play ps2 games..

I was tempted to get a 360 this weekend as they had a package with Halo 3 and Pro Evo for Ã'£249 but their poor reputation for breaking down means I'm going to wait for the next PS3 price drop!! :lol:

The worry is every time I would switch it on I'd be thinking is today the day when the damn thing stops working!! :lol:

The new 3 year warranty is good although the machine has been out for over 2 years and they still can't stop them overheating !! :lol:

At the minute I am trying to raise funds to pay for the possibility of a new boiler so video games are going to wait a while !! :x
