How's things in Oz mate??

Still struggling to settle mate, we have been here 18 months now and it's still hard.

Miss family, mates, good pubs, food and a good game of football.

Its really hard mate it really is.

No it's not going as well as we would have liked, I would have good advice for anyone else thinking about it

We have a 13 year old lad, to be honest he was one of the reasons we moved here, I wanted him out of the house, he is hard to get out of the house in Oz as he was in the UK. The Xbox controller just seems to be stuck to him :D

You wouldn't recommend emmigrating then?

Hi Mate

I would just think long and hard at what you have, Australia is a total different place than the UK, I am not saying it's bad but diifferent. Some people will love it and some hate it, once you have made the expensive move it's hard to make the even more expensive move back.

I have family in Perth, I visited when I was about 13 or so.
I have quite vivid memories of it being an awesome place! then again most things seem great as a kid...

What are your main problems?
Social / work / Climate?

Or a big mixture?

I have been living out of the Uk for about 6 months now and it can be hard at times, we have no children yet but that may be the deciding factor on where we settle in the future.

Shoot me a pm if you ever want to have a chat!

its got to be better than living here in the UK!

we get robbed by the government and we dont even get nice weather!

Perth is one of the most expensive places in the world to live, you will find it more expensive here than in most parts of the UK.

There is no competition here so nobody keeps prices down, it will cost me far more to fly to the UK than it does the other way round.

As for the weather yes it is nicer but the when its 42-45 degrees for 6 months of the year it becomes hard to take.

I will come back with the good points

On my island it rains 365 days a year!

I honestly can't remember the last time we had 3 dry days in a row, let-alone 3 days of sun. Literally, we're talking summer 2006

Give me 45 degrees any day (as long as I get aircon)

I'm looking out the window now and I have a swimming pool where my back garden used to be. The ******* garden is flooded again, the second time in 3 weeks. This is the 'summer' WTF is winter gonna be like!?

45 degrees, we aint had 25 degrees this year.
