Hope they find them :)

It does seem like an odd idea - according to this eBay sale, the game is only worth $20 or so:

So I don't see how finding another million of them is going to help with the value? :? I'd understand if it was a rare expensive game.

It doesn't really say why they are digging up these [obviously] broken games that may or may not have been buried in concrete under a landfil for 30 years. Seems like a huge waste of time and effort to me. Who's funding this project?? :?

"In September 1983 the firm is said to have dumped millions of cartridges at the landfill site and buried them under concrete."

Was it really that bad? It's as though Atari were so ashamed they never ever wanted these games to surface and taint the E.T/Atari trade mark ...and now some genius wants to dig them up and release the evil buried these past thirty years. Some ex Atari CEO is now thinking 'for ****'s sake!'

I wonder how well the games would work??? I am sure the boxes are dust. Maybe they will finally find Jimmy Hoffa's body or Hitlers....or both.......................Now I am excited.

It would liven Time Team up a bit. Better than the usual different coloured soil and bits of pot.

very cool, wonder if they are still playable, lol, i didn't have the game myself, but the reason they dumped them all in the first place was because they couldn't shift them, as it was a naff game, i'd have one now because of the history of it

Awesome find, I always wondered if the landfill stories had been true...

Now on to the arcade game that was released by the American Government to hypnotise then brainwash its users, anyone remember that one??

No wonder the ET game didn't sell. It was the worst pile of shite ever. See below.

wow that is crazy to think that these games were actually dumped in such a way  and then finding them. I recall a story about something similar which could have been these games or was it SW related :?
