would appreciate some advice

hi everyone ...1st post in these forums just looking for some advice if anyone fancies helping .. a few years ago i purchased a box full of figures from someone who was clearing their loft out .. the bloke told me they had sat in his loft for around 25 + years .. i only really got them as my son had shown interest in star wars and they seemed cheap for a lot of nice looking original figures .. he only really displayed them on his shelves but now he has turned into a teen he is showing different interests .. i nearly sold them in the local friday ad until i looked on ebay to find out a bit more info .. looks like some of them are pretty collectable i have some of the "last 17" i think thats what they call them (sorry newbie) and some of the original weapons to go with them .. i also have a wad of original backing cards as well 20 - 30 i think .. i think the most collectable i have is the yak face figure with original staff and backing card which has never been hung up as the bit of card is still in the hole (i think i read collectors like that lol no idea) .. im completely lost as to where to start as you cant always trust dealers and im worried if i go to sell the lot to one he wouldnt tell us if we had something "special" .. i guess the biggest question we would ask is my son isnt desperate for money as he is only 14 so would he be better putting it all away for a few years till he needs it .. im guessing the value of these collectables fluctuate or will they always hold their price and just be worth more in time to come .. any advice would be greatfully received many thanks ... steve

The figures you will get the most for are

Yak Face (middle on the bottom row in the first picture)
Amanaman (top left in 3rd picture - he has skulls on his staff)
Luke Stormtrooper (second from the left in the third picture)

They look in good condition so those three should command a good price on their own

The others are still worth a few pounds (especially the ones in the first picture, except Anakin)

I'm pretty sure that you'll be able to sell on here no problems at all

I don't buy loose figures so can't give you an estimation i'm afraid but all the best and welcome to the forum

well you have 10 of the last 17 there in that lot and they look in good nick! pics s0199 and 0201.
my rough values on these figures bud are

yak face could fetch you anything from £50-£75 with the card on ebay depending on the day.....................
r2d2 with pop saber and card £30-£35...
luke poncho, i cant see his weapon so £20 with card if you can match up a weapon £30
imperial dignitary £15 if his nose has a paint chip if perfect £25 maybe
anakin skywalker £5-10
barada £15-£20.
luke stormtrooper with helmet £20 if you find and match up the right weapon £25-30 and if hes minty white £35
anamaman thats the figure with skull staff £30-35
imperial gunner and card £20 if you find and match up the right weapon £25-30 awing pilot the pilot figure thats green £10-20 if you can match up the right weapon maybe........ £25

all the other figures you have in the other pictures id say range £2-3 loose but if you can match some of the weapons to them so that they are complete then id say £5-8 maybe . todo this goto this web site http://www.rebelscum.com/VINtaccessories.asp to match up weapons to the figs

Hi .. Thanks for your responses .. Do you think the value of the last 17 figures will be stable or rise in the future .. I'm asking as he isn't desperate for cash now so would prob just spend it on crap lol .. Or if the value could grow I would rather he put them away for a few years and maybe sold them when he needed money for something more worthwhile .. Like girls maybe ... Yea right more like a bit towards his first car or something .. Oh and I still have about 20 or so more backing cards although I think they are more for the more common figures and also a x-wing fighter in pretty good condition .. Good question but one I don't think anyone can answer! As I said earlier, I don't buy loose figures but I know a few on here do and it appears that the prices of Yak Face's have fallen recently

Howdy Hellz, welcome to the forum.
If I may also declare interest in Barada, Luke Bespin, Ugnaught, Imperial Gunner... and a few others but I'd best stop there for now!
