Whatever Disney says is Canon from now on?

Right, im currently reading the SW comics and have been delving more into comics in general. Couple of questions:

So we know everything that Marvel /Disney release IS Star Wars Canon, but are these still getting some creative ideas from Lucas at all? I thought he was playing a little role in the development after he sold up?

None whatsoever. The Lucas creative, steering group (or whatever they are called) are co-ordinating the stories. Leyland Chee, Pablo Hidalgo and a few others. I think it works by authors bring ideas for consideration and that the group refine it before it is fleshed out. Writers pretty much have free reign with strict parameters. If that makes sense.
