Hi guys ,

Just wanted to post a thread on what I think Star Wars collecting is really about !

There have been numerous kind gestures over the last few years , and this is one of mine .

I fired a thread out a few weeks ago , looking for some help for the Vectis auction , Ian Lind AKA Lindo kindly contacted me . We messaged each other and Lindo kindly agreed to pick up my lots if I won .

After the auction I won 7 lots more than I expected , however Lindo still had no issue picking everything up , he boxed all the items up as if they were his own , all lots arrived safely .

So what is Star Wars collecting all about , it's going the extra mile for other collectors to achieve their goals as well as your own

Lindo your a legend , thanks buddy

I have read of a few members helping each other on here. And because of our locations around the world we don't even know each other or meet. It's special I think when people do go that extra mile to help someone they haven't even met before when they need abit of help in general.
And its great when there's so many willing to help each other on here so each other can reach there collecting goals.

It's a passion that resides within each and everyone of us, for varied reasons we have entered the fray of collecting and it becomes part of the rich fabric of our lives
There are those as within all walks of life will come and go, but there are those that will collect no matter what.
Life may throw hurdles in our way, and we must always keep grounded and the right perspective, but for me it's not about value or investment other than an investment in your own sense of well being.

I might sound OTT and heavy but genuinely this hobby of ours is something that gets to the core of you.

Sorry but I can't resist a ditty......

We are all guilty of living our lives in haste,
Need to do this, need to that, no time to waste,
All too soon Father time taps your shoulder,
And you find you are many years older,
So what is your point, I hear you say,
Simply it's this for each and everyday,
Do your best for your loved ones and live life for others,
And if you are lucky enough to find a band of brothers,
Such as the stalwarts that reside on this forum of ours,
Which above all others it stands up and towers,
Where we share our passion, and we are there for each other,
Where we can rekindle our faith in human kind and one another,
Where we learn where we laugh, where we may sometimes cry,
Always we are comrades as we move forward and try,
To feed our passion in this hobby for all things we collect,
Whilst treating each other with measured pride and respect,
I wear my heart on my sleeve, and say without refrain,
This ethos this passion of ours long may it remain

Once more I shall now get my coat :?

It's besides the point but a lot of the guys on here meet fairly regularly. There are events and meet ups all year round if you are willing to travel. I have met some of the best people i've ever met in my life from this forum. Top guys :)

Some of the generosity that comes out of this forum blows you away at times. Again - top guys 8)
