What AFA rating would you be satisfied with?

Personally, I don't think I like anything less than a 70 and that's really only if it's a rare or saught after one. 60 is unacceptable for me and I'll look at it as if there's something wrong with it.

Alos how do the different tiers of grades affect price in people's opinions...?

I rarely buy anything already graded, but I wouldn't send anything for grading that I think would get less than an 80. Any lower and its not really worth it (as far as MOC's are concerned anyway).

Theres a lot of common Kenner AFA80's out there going unsold whereas 85's are snapped up pretty quickly if the price isn't too bad.

Have just bought my first AFA graded item.
But i bought it because i wanted the figure not because it was AFA graded.

Here is the lowest graded stuff in my collection

Is it a case, if someone at the AFA has had a shitty day they may find
fault or be over critical in there grading.

When I briefly collected AFA MOC's the most important thing was the bubbles grade and not the overall one. If the bubble was 80 then it was good enough for me but 70 or 75 meant it was crushed and that reduces the visual effect of the whole thing.

to get a 40 or 60 what problems would the MOC have?

Bubble cracks are the biggest problem with AFA. I once had a Power Droid where the bubble cracked very slightly in transit to them (crack was about 3mm long and caused by the figure). The Card got 85, the figure got 90, the bubble got a 60 (would have been an 85 without the crack). Overall grade was 60  Unfortunately that is one of their policies. Personally I think its bollocks

Why dont the AFA average the 3 grades and come up with a overall
better grade. Going for the lower of the 3 grades seems bollocks to me.
That's what puts me off sending any of mine to them.
