In my opinion, you should have held out longer and bought a complete Leia rather than incomplete and settle for a repro. I can't agree to buying a repro blaster no matter what the reason.

The Leia should come with a very dark blue/black gun (it'll appear black in normal lighting). They can also have the green tint to them instead of blue. For ESB, the Leia Hoth and Leia Bespin figures came with a more pure blue version of the same blaster. While the blue one isn't technically correct, it's an acceptable substitute, and those are slightly cheaper than the black one.

Best bet would be to buy a complete Leia Hoth, take the gun, and sell/trade the figure, or hope you can get lucky in a lot sale where you could resell the other figures.

:shock: blimey Steve! Burn in hell because of 1 repro gun?! That's a bit excessive isn't it?! Can i just be clear on something please. As soon as i find a Leia with original gun, i will replace the repro with the original gun and bin the repro ok?

With regards to repro - I understand why it pains someone to spend 20GBP on a little bit of plastic but if you purchase repro then you fund that industry so you'd be better from a hobby stand point leaving it as is (although obviously final choice is yours)

No i will continue the hobby that i love but i will refrain from buying any repro's in future. If i can't find or buy the real accessories, i will have the figure with no weapons or accessories instead of buying repro's. I agree it was a mistake buying the repro gun, becauseevery repro sold funds a fake market which is not good.

I am talking generally about reproduction, not just your 1 blaster , there is lots of emotion around reproduction items and how they are affecting the collecting community, as a dead hard vintage collector , only use original bits or not at all !

But it's your choice !

I have a couple of figures in my loose collection without weapons (Luke fb and Imp Gunner). It's nice to have all the weapons with them but agree with the others, would never knowingly put a repro in my cabinet. The weapon you need will turn up sooner or later, don't worry about it.

I'm in exactly the Same position, I got a nice leia figure from Iain, and a forum member Mark ( Darthstanley) organised a cape for me). So my Leia is currently weapon less , I will however wait until I can source one, the reason I won't go for a repro one is firstly, personally for me it s not right cos I know it would be repro, secondly by buying repro it funds the scammers, and burns noobs coming into collecting who may get scammed.

We all learn from our mistakes though, the fact that you have posted a thread asking for opinions says it all in regard to your character and the type of guy you are, so no worries there.

I received the Princess Leia figure this morning. I'm very pleased to say that the cape is genuine and no repro. She's in mint condition, overall very happy.
