Does anyone know anything about a Star Wars cast and crew gift set which was given at Elstree Studios at the Indiana Jones wrap party, so 1980? They're a set of the first 12 as 2" cast metal figures.

This set was listed on Ebay a while ago

According to the coo they were sculpted by the resident jeweler at Elstree in 1976

and this looks like one of the molds they must have been cast in

I once asked the question of what were the earliest SW toys and someone linked me to these. They were a set of pewter figures from 1977. More details here: http://theswca.com/index.php?action=disp_item&item_id=13977

I hadn't heard about these other 'handcrafted' figures but the 1976 date seems strange. Star Wars was in production through 1976 and the very earliest cut (which Lucas privately screened for his friends and famously went down like a lead balloon) wasn't screened until Feb 1977. Add to that the 'Indiana Jones' date where these were apparently gifted, which didn't wrap until late 1980 (also why write 'Indiana Jones' on the COA, that addition to the title was added many years later - the original title was simple Raiders Of The Lost Ark).

These Elstree sets are beginning to sound a bit dodgy, i did some digging and found this question from 7 years ago https://fr.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080831112320AAwd2Yl
the story about making them and not getting a license seems oddly similar to the heritage figures, the coa from Elstree comes signed by two different people and it is hard to believe there are only 20 sets out there when the mold for six of the figures was recently pictured in a for sale thread.

A bit more digging: http://www.originalprop.com/blog/2009/02/02/elstree-props-fertility-idols-light-gods-danziger-collection-coas-multiple-topic-update/

Seems like a lot of red flags, I don't believe the COA is worth the paper it's printed on... avoid.

I wouldn't touch those Elstree sets with a barge pole. A guy has been trying to off load them on eBAY and FB for quiet some time, he's also banned from several groups. So I'd keep clear!!

the Han, C3po R2 and Jawa look verry similar to these edition Atlas figures

and the Luke and Chewbacca look like they could be from the 1994 Herritage pewter line
