Vader Variant ID

Yo fellas, i've got this vader variant which, to keep it short and simple, i have no clue what it is and i wondered if anyone of you guys could help out. Ive had a browse at some links in the valuation thread provided by a few of you guys but i really dont understand the variant world. I was gonna post photos of him BUT i have found a thread, which i will link, from imp gunnery and my vader is exactly the same as that 1. Same COO, leathery patterned cape, clip in the cape down the side. Even still going thru' all their discussions of about 10 post, i am still none the wiser! :lol: Someone please help me out as i am looking to sell and do not want to over or indeed overprice the dark twatting lord. What is he????? :?:

That type of cape came on Vader in Clipper mailers although the COO looks a little different to the one I had. Mine was scarred out but you could still read Hong Kong. I don't know if that cape was found elsewhere though.

On the link is that a similar pattern that should be on a jawa cape? Sorry for going of the topic from Vader.
I have never come across one of those capes either.
My childhood vader at home has a batman cape attached to him

Thanks for your input mate. Just incase it's needed, heres a few photos of mine. You can see the seemingly h cut cape, the leathery cape materialand the COO, or lack of it, hopefully together with the little dots....

Hi mate

On the close up of the "leathery" Cape, it looks as though there is a " step" on the cut of the edge of the Cape? Almost like its hand cut.

The COO and the thick Cape , do they not all point to PBP?

Like I've said before, I'm no expert, but my guess would be PBP.

I call him PBP and Clipper variant because he can be found in clipper baggies and on PBP cards.

Hard to see on the picture if there is a part of a H under the copyright and G. If there is that then I will only call it a PBP.

So the question remains then is it a PBP clipper? TBH i am really desperate for funds at the moment so would love a valuation on him so i can put him in the for sale section and obvs i wanna advertise what on earth he is properly.

Can you take another picture of the coo so we can see the small dots and turn the picture 90 degrees ? I am pretty sure if there is dots, then it is parts of a letter and I have never seen that no coo in clipper baggies. So I will still say PBP.

Do you also have a picture of the cape compared to another vader cape ?

There is 2 PBP Rugose capes a black one and a shine black one. The shiny black is more rare than the black one.

My money is on PBP and the dots are actually the top of the H.

Does your cape look like the one to the left on the picture ? if yes then there is 2 different a black one and a shiny black one. The shiny black one is more rare.

The dots is part of a H so I would say he is PBP but he can also be found in clipper baggies and he can also be found in the UK. Some also call him Palitoy vader, I do not know if he was sold on palitoy cards.

I have never found the shiny rugose cape on that no coo. So if your cape is black then I would call him clipper/pbp/palitoy.

I have one in a clipper baggie and I have found maybe 5 or 10 in the uk, so maybe that is why some also call him palitoy :? but he can also be found in spain and other countries and it has also been found on pbp cards if I remember correct so that is also why he is called PBP.

Lars i would say it's a shiny cape but what do you think? He obvs needs a clean up but nothing serious. There is also some damage at the top of the cape hopefully you can see this in the photos.

I would say the cape is the black one :wink:
