Just seen this posted up on RS - absolute quality :D

All of the Hybrids, Jawa and Madine - I love it

Astonishing. Never seen them all together like that. Shouldn't imagine there are many other collectors around the world with a complete set.

I would agree. With Madine costing over £6K alone then I think there can not be too many complete sets out there

He's been working on those for quite some time I seem to recall. Its an impressive lot the second complete set that I've seen shown. I just hope he has somewhere nice to show them off.

Thorsten did extremely well with his set, he started in april/may of 2009!

The Madine he owns I believe is the very same "90 Euro" one that everyone knows about- here it is when it was up for sale again - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Star-Wars-Vintage-Trilogo-Tri-Logo-General-MADINE-Meccano-MOC-/270824480196?clk_rvr_id=302301369160#ht_500wt_1413

Not quite a 6k Madine but regardless a hefty purchase for anyones wallet! Although it is quite the achievement, I know loads of Trilogo collectors and can only say I know of 3 complete sets!

has one ever sold for £6k?

i remember when 3 came up for sale in one year.

The £6K price I was basing this one was the one listed on RS earlier in the year - I know that it went pending so presumed it had sold for that amount.

To be fair quite a lot of comments on the thread were along the lines of - this is too cheap !

Well I think the AFA 85 one that Jeff bought was probably the most expensive one out there, although I have no idea how much he bought it for but I bet it wasn't cheap at all.

There are several people on RS that I know for sure would happily offer a $7k bounty on one in as good condition if not more. The unfortunate thing is that these things rarely pop up on ebay any more, it's all behind closed door deals. I would love to see one on ebay with no reserve but it just won't happen as people want the highest price possible and reserve auctions blow..

FWIW- there are four graded ones floating about and that's according to the outdated AFA pop report, so probably a couple more perhaps since that was last updated.

While I think this is by far the rarest standard trilogo, I struggle to consider it mega rare. I wouldn't be surprised if people would pay £6k for one, though I think this is more dictated by the number of tri-logo collectors there are rather than just the rarity of the piece.

That said, it ia a craking achievement to complete any set and that trilogo set on RS is a very nice looking group and certainly very difficult to achieve.

Bingo, more collectors than Madines.

But that does not prove the piece is mega rare.

Anyway, this is not a discussion about the rarity of certain pieces, it's cracking collection so full kudos to the guy who completed it 8)

Very nice to see. Sad to think I once had all but three (Madine, Jawa and Boba Fett obviously...)

Bloody hell, were these stolen as well ?

Over half of them were, I sold the remaining (mostly low value) ones as I couldn't be bothered to start again, as tri-logos became very popular and tripled in price just after. Typical!
