We can't wait to see your wampa sorry to read you did not have one when you was a kid. I was lucky to buy my one from one of the kids next door, my neighbour. He was a few years older than me and was to old to play with it and he sold me his wampa and the mighty jabba, that was a great day for me because it was in the late 80s so there was no more star wars stuff in the stores.I'll post my photos later, hopefully later today, but for now I'd just like to comment on the Wampa. I love the fact that Kenner made one (and I wish I'd owned one as a kid, but it was a toy I never did until adulthood), but I also lament the fact they made their version so tame-looking. By the time the Rancor came out for ROTJ, they had obviously seen the error of their ways, since that toy at least has teeth! But the poor old Wampa looks more like a cuddly toy than the beast that very nearly finished off Luke!
Nice wampa you have there ready to eat luke thanks for sharing your wampa in the thread with usHeres mine
OK, here are mine....
For ages, I only owned a Palitoy ESB boxed one since I usually only collect Palitoy boxes, and then only the 1st issue boxes. However, the exception to this rule is where Kenner released the toy first, usually in earlier logoed packaging (e.g. the ESB boxed Rebel Transport and Scout Walker, and the SW boxed Millennium Falcon). However, I also want the Kenner release if their first version has completely different packaging to Palitoy, and on that front, the Wampa meets my criteria.
Despite that however (and also despite having known about the Kenner 1st issue Wampa featuring the Rebel Commander on the box as the Wampa's lunch for many years), for some reason I never got around to actually getting one. Well that has been corrected, as I now have two! It wasn't my intention to buy two, but the first one I got still had its flap taped shut, as many of these did from factory (I believe in at least some instances, this was due to them being catalogue sold items). However, when I received it, nice though it was, I knew I was never going to be satisfied unless I could actually see the Rebel Commander, and since I couldn't bring myself to slice the tape on mine, I hunted down a second one which had never been taped shut, even if (like so many Wampas) the flap had nevertheless still been folded at some stage in its existence.
Anyway, enough waffle:
Sensational collection as always! Thanks for sharingHere are mine. They've become quite a pack (would a pack of Wampa's be correct?).

Supposedly there is a Top Toys version, Lars, but I have never seen one and am not on the lookout.
The JC Penney Wampa's were sold through their catalogue. The number on the top of the box corresponds to a number in the catalogue (which I also have somewhere). It might have been taped to more easily pack them up. I'm not sure if this was done at the factory, but it looks to have been done professionally with broad tape like the tape used to factory seal boxes. Anyway, there's no other store than JC Penny that did this.
An excellent collection of wampas! The boxes look great, and the wampas themselves all look very white with no discolouration.Okay finally I got my wampa stuff out so I could take some pictures.
First my Kenner ESB box with $1 Rebate offer with the Wampa from the box.

My last a 4th Wampa are my POTF Hoth Rescue Playpack. The figures and the beasts was in sealed bags when I got it and the insert match the box. Some collectors have been looking at the bags and they say they are not original. So after thinking about it I took the figures and beasts out the bags. The 2 beast are thight in the legs. The wampa are so thight so I think the legs have never moved before. The bags are not cut in a straight line so I guess they are not original unless another owner have been cutting in the original bags, the tape does also not look like factory tape, but it looks old. The bags have no company logo on them.

Thanks for sharing your collection
I remember being shown an image of the HRC version back in my early, naive days of collecting in the early 90s and being surprised such a version existed.
Chuffed when I got one in the early 2000s
More excellent stuff, and well done for having both on display (something my own HRC version sadly isn't yet!).I remember being shown an image of the HRC version back in my early, naive days of collecting in the early 90s and being surprised such a version existed.
