so i bought some trainers on ebay and when they arrived i noticed they are blatently fake, charged me 7.99 on shipping and then they arrived in a bin bag with 2.80 on them.

i contacted the seller and told him im not happy hes sent me fakes and done me over on shipping, he then replies with "i charged that much so that i could recover losses from ebay, im happy to refund you but you need to post them back out your own pocket"

i wasnt happy with this so opened the problem in the resolution centre, telling ebay everything that was happening and that the seller also had 2 other pairs on ebay for sale and that i was happy to send mine to trading standards.

the seller has now contacted me calling me mad, why have i done this, im f**king crazy blah blah blah....

he is also from somewhere in london and he has my shipping address so for all i know he could be on his way?

anyway what do you think the out come of this will be?

Don't think the guy will risk a face to face confrontation over a set of trainers. He doesn't know who you are or what your capable off. Not saying your Charles Bronson but he doesn't know. Plus there's an old saying barking dogs don't bite (but not in all cases). 8)

If your just talking about Ebay and shipping you'll end up eating the postage Fees I think. At least you get your trainer month back. Possibly expect a turd in a box tho at some point. Old forum JK...

I wouldn't worry to much...

He is selling trainers he knows are fake, personally I would take it further and contact trading standards (or whoever deals with fake merchandise) and the company that makes the originals while filing a counterfeit goods complaint with eBay.

This seller is probably one of those muppets that thinks eBay is all about fake goods and that people expect to buy fake trainers if they are cheap and its all the norm, this is why he thinks you are mad.

i checked on the postage label and it was sent from completely the other side of london so yes doubtful i reckon.

before i opened a case he said to just send them back at the price he sent them which was 2.80. yeah a nice slow unsigned for 2nd class and then all he has to say is 'sorry im not giving a refund and ive not recieved the trainers' when he has.

Wouldn't worry about him turning up, think he ll be more worried about trading standards/ CID turning up on his doorstep.

i sent something back 2 weeks ago and all i did was click return item in ebay and give reason they then contacted user and when he agreed to accept return they sent me a link to print a return postage label that was from ebay and was a free return and fully tracked through ebay.
once i had posted it showed up in my ebay that i had sent it then it shows its in transit then once user receives it shows up that they have and they cannot say any difference as ebay have tracked it all the way.
this is first time i have ever seen this and i received full refund of item plus the postage i had paid i was not out of pocket at all :D

You get a lot of wankers like this on ebay. I really wouldn't give it too much thought.

On the issue i would call ebay or paypal would be better and tell them the situation. Tell them you are out of pocket on postage already having paid double and you will not pay more. You need to call tho. Opening a case will just result in them telling you to return the item at your cost.
If you call them and speak to someone there's a chance they will take your side.

would it be cheeky of me to wear them for one night out before i return them? could always say i realised they were fake after wearing them they didnt feel right?

If you do, make sure you walk through as many turds as you can find on your way home.

HAHA! :) thanks joe, will do!

does anyone know how i contact a member of staff at ebay?

the seller has still not refunded me the money for the fake trainers or refunded me the cash to post them back to him, ebay said if he hasnt refunded me by the 8th of november then i should contact them, i checked my paypal on the 8th and no refund but also the case that i had opened had vanished? so i tried to contact them but its not very clear, it mentions you can call them or chat to them viam some online chat thing but it does give you an option to click to do either so i ended up googling a phone number for ebay customer services but i was in a queue going nowhere for 25 minutes???

pain in the arse this is!
help does anyone know what to click on to get into one of those chatroom things with a member of staff please?

Have you checked the resolution centre - the case should be in there - either as active or closed

You can always try the chat option on eBay as well - you might have to wait but at least you can get on with other things

thanks iain, i dont want to sound like a dummy but where is the chat option?
when i click the contact bit it shows options but nothing for me to click to start the chat, maybe im being blind?

it just says a case is open but nothing else

i cant find any chat option, it wont let me open another case and im not phoning them again for nobody to answer for 25 minutes, bit stuck really
