Happy New Year from The Vintage Rebellion Podcast.

We start 2016 with an almighty bang as we have long term British collector and Helix fanatic Craig Spivey joined the Rebellion for this months interview, Craig discusses The Force Awakens British Premier and After Show Party that he was lucky enough to attend, along with digging into his collection as we discuss a bit of everything including his part of the Millennium Falcon that he owns.

Thomas Garvey joins Richard on Rebel Briefings to discuss a recent article which he published on the SWCA and Stuart speaks with Matt Fox on his collection being displayed in the 'May the Toys be With You' exhibition.

Pete looks at two huge recent auctions during the market section as he delves into the Nigo auction held at Sothebys as well as the recent Vectis auction.

Jez brings us his Newest Acquisitions where he looks at items from the forums and facebook. All this plus Force Awakens discussion, Rapid Fire and general jabbering's sees the Vintage Rebellion doing what it does best. ENJOY!!!

I have to confess, to my shame, I had not listened to the podcast before. However after speaking to Stu and realising we had actually met a couple years back I have rectified that. I had 6 hours in the car today and it was accompanied by various old episodes of the podcast - and I have to say thank you so much to you guys for putting these together with such heart and soul. Although I was driving alone it felt like I had a car full of vintage Star Wars experts sharing the journey and it really was a good listen and you defo have a new subscriber in me! Really appreciated, cheers for making them.

Really enjoyed this show lads, it was a perfect length for my Salisbury to Sheffield commute

All very enjoyable interviews - but who was the song by? Also good to hear swap shop again

And Tommy In my opinion moulded legs Han is a proper variation - only ever made for the 31 backs from one particular HK factory, and as such would look like a 'decision' to go to blue plastic to match the other production line :)

What a cracking episode and great to hear Craig Spivey (you see, there's a lot to be said for 'Craigs'!). Fantastic to hear my name mentioned.

As a matter of amazing co-incidence an empty Helix maths set display box, as discussed by Craig has just been posted on ebay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Star-Wars-Helix-Maths-Set-Display-Box-Vintage-Rare-1977-78-/172067103789?hash=item280fffa42d:g:jBAAAOSw-zxWnLR3

The owner posted here, on my original Helix thread http://starwarsforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=21077&start=15

You'll find there my explanation of the common nature of the Helix pencil tops box. I've updated it with photographs.

Craig.

Thanks for all of the feedback lads. Grant will be along soon i'm sure to say who did the song.
We've just had another Skype and finalised the next couple of recording sessions, all exciting stuff :D
Lots of plans, lots of chat, but all routed and keeping it real.
Don't forget to keep me posted for NA items. I'll always begin with SWFUK!

I can see that, sure. Something like that is at least the result of a conscious decision on the part of the vendor, rather than one of the paint masks just being clogged or the girl who paints the figure's belt buckle not showing up that day. Honestly, I don't think there's a "right" or a "wrong" way to categorize variations though. I think people go way too far with it sometimes, since every single figure ever released is slightly different, but ultimately it just comes down to the individual collector deciding for him/herself. It's like the legal definition of pornographic obscenity in the States: "I'll know it when I see it." :)

First rate as per usual. Heard you haven't had many app store reviews so I did one, and liked on FB.

Great interviewees, and that was a class song about the 3 films condensed. Good to hear discussion about the Nigo auction. I too was amazed at the low price the POTF Anakin went for. The POTF AT-AT driver was a shocker at $6k, especially as someone said there was ink touch ups.
