I have not been to one yet. I was hoping to go to my first one this summer (the holiday is booked commencing Friday 9th Aug). I have not been to Echo Live yet either. (I have a back condition that limits my ability to travel and to socialise at these events easily). However, the way people speak about it on here and the way the lads on the TVR podcast hold it in such high regards has meant I have always considered it the no.1 event for vintage Star Wars, both as a place to pick up vintage, and more importantly as a place to socialise. My understanding is that FF is so much more than a place to buy and sell and its absence would leave a gaping hole in the heart of our community. You might not be able to compete with Redbridge for size and centrality but I couldn’t imagine a more beautiful and tranquil setting than Fordingbridge for a Star Wars meet. What you lack there you make up for in community spirit. Live has been built up on the back of the Facebook platform. There is something more charming and poetic about the old school nature of FF. I’m sorry you’re having your doubts Dave but I’m sure if you look around you you’ll see plenty of love and need for your event down on the edge of the New Forest. If only my ability to travel was not so limited. I hope I am not too late to experience the FF experience.
