I've heard this term used a fair bit since joining various collector forums but I've yet to find out what it was all about. I'm fairly certain it pertains to a significant Vintage Star Wars find so if anyone has a link to some good reading or could be bothered to explain on here that would be great.

Cheers Ryan.

I always think it sounds so dramatic "The Earth Find"!! Like some unearthed stash of Star Wars stuff got discovered in some mystical way. But "just" a Kenner employee

What do people think about the prices on those items now? I can't get past the thought of 19 prototype DT lightsabers - $375 each!! :D

The e-mail is copied below anyway.

Items in this letter that don't sell in the next week or two will be added to the web site.

****!

Seconded.

Yeah I agree it sounds all mystical like Indiana Jones uncovered this lot, so it was basically a bunch of items ( albeit freakin amazing items ) brokered for an ex Kenner employee through the Earthtoymall.

Cool thanks fellas clears it up as it's quite frequently referred to in threads for certain items.

Cheers Ryan

It would be worth getting a loan for all that.

Notice that there are always first shots for sale on RS. Are they mostly from this batch?

I wish there were FS's always available at those prices nowadays! Strangely the figures have risen hugely on the secondary market in the last 4-5 years but the proto sabers haven't a great deal - they were $375 each and I suspect now you could get one for approx $500.

A lot of the FS's pictured can be traced to various RS members - I own one of the FX-7 FS's and one of the proto sabers and used to own one of the DSC first shot pieces. I think it would be a safe bet to say that whilst some of the first shots that seem to regularly pop up for sale on RS are from this find the majority of first shots a never 'seen' for sale and an awful lot of those did originate from The Earth but not necessarily this particular lot. Kathy @ The Earth, Tom @ CIB and Jordan @ Hollywood Heroes. amoungest others, were/are significant sources for pre-production pieces.

If anyone hasn't had a browse through Chris G's Toyshop scrapbook I'd strongly recommend it - some amazing pieces were sold via those classifieds and the prices.... well if only they were the same these days!

Just incredible. That's all real museum quality stuff. I love the blasters on the trees and it goes without saying the DT tree is just amazing. So, so incredible.

I remember this. I bought and sold one of the Lukes that year as life took a bit of a turn. Kathy is a lovely woman too :D

Well that lot makes your eyes water

I'd love to see a close up of Leia's blaster as I wonder how you can tell that it's a prototype?

Impressive!
