SW Fan from South Africa

Hi All!

I've been a SW fan since I can remember. Living in Cape Town, South Africa. Only got into collecting when I was lucky enough to attend SW Celebration 25 in the UK. What an awesome experience! We don't get that kind of thing here by us. If I remember I was the 3rd guy in the Q when it opened and was just in awe at the awesomeness! As we walked into the hall, they had this life-size Jabba in-front. So cool!!!!

As I walked through I met this guy at a stall who was selling his stuff because they're were having a baby, so I bought come cool stuff from him and so it started. Below are the 2 LIghtsabers that started it all! I have quite a few other items which I collected over the years and It's become quite the 'habit' ! Bat, I need to downsize my collection now and that seems to be quite a difficult thing all the way here in Cape Town. It seems like Ebay is the best option? Any suggestions. I'd be more than happy to put more items of my collection up on the Forum, but don't want to spam it!? Looking forward to share the addiction with you all!

On a non-SW topic. For any England rugby fans out there - I truly feel your pain! The Japan game hurt a WHOLE lot back home, so my condolences! At least your cricket team is on the up and up and we'll be seeing them shortly in SA. And I'l be going to the SA / England new years test in Cape Town!

Probably the best place to sell vintage items is on this forum but I wouldn't fire in straight away with a sales thread. People do that but you might find any potential buyers to be a little suspicious, so expect a lot of questions. Ebay is a sellers nightmare by the way.

These sabers are very nice but would probably go in general sales or the modern section. You also need prices to list sales.

Didn't want it to come across as a sales thread...more looking for info and feedback. I've been collecting the stuff I like and not really 'treasure' hunting. So more curious about what I have and what other fans think of what I have...but not in a boasting kind of way. Hope that makes sense. I got into the collecting thing more by accident, than anything else. I now I have things from Star Wars, to Back to the future, Ghostbusters, Marvel, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy...etc etc. This is quite a nasty bug where you've been bitten!

Then at the same time want to get an idea where I can sell some of my SW collection. Then as soon as I have more info and get into things, I can start the 'sales pitch' and then get onto the sale threads.

Cool. If you collect other vintage there's a section for that in the off topic bit down the bottom of the forum. A lot of guys on here collect other vintage lines. I dip my toe in on the Action Force and Indiana Jones early 80's stuff. Post up some photos of what you have. Everyone likes to see new collections
