Star Wars references in 80s films

I was just watching V Visitors, the two part 1983 TV series, and pleasantly surprised to hear a college brass band playing the Star Wars theme tune when welcoming the alien visitors to earth in episode 1. It got me to wondering what other 80s films and shows make cool "period" references to Star Wars. Aside from this one I can think of Elliot playing with Greedo and Hammerhead in E.T. Anyone know any others?

Not exactly what you mean, but very apt for this forum

Just watching Paul and they play the Cantina Band theme when Graeme, Clive and Ruth enter Roys Roadhouse

I remember SW references in that, and Star Trek. There's a load of Slave Leia's behind them at the beginning at Comicon and other things through the film.

The kid in Poltergeist had a ton of Star Wars merchandise in his bedroom from whar I remember including cool ESB bedding

Spot on! Was watching this the other day! There's definitely a White Tie Fighter in Poltergeist, and pretty positive it's the same one from ET. Probably the same prop masters, it was all Spielberg after all!

Not really 80's, but I noticed some Vintage figures in the new season of True Detective that's been on. They're evidence at a crime scene!!

The brilliantly bleak British TV film 'Threads' from 1984 about a nuclear attack shows some Star Wars figures that survived the blast. This link takes you straight to a glimpse in the trailer for the recent Bluray.

Blast from the past. We studied that in the 3rd year seniors, can you believe?

I can believe. I had an RE teacher who'd show When The Wind Blows as an end of term treat.
