Having just completed my focus, I am in a bit of a Star Wars
collecting void at the moment.
The question i have is
What is your current collecting focus and can you see that changing
in the future?
Also have you completed a focus and then decided to start another one or have you given up on one to start another?

I had ideas for my focus (the bounty hunters) and started collecting, then i saw how many different cardbacks there were and other variations so i toned it down to just the ESB release, but i started picking up more Bossk items and got two lovely proof cards, a mailer set and the AFA 90.

So ive gone more towards the Bossk, i have got all bounty hunters on ESB card but i dont think i will go for the full collection, i will try and improve on the quality of the ones i have.

And i have also picked up Kubricks and bust-ups, the list goes on, i also found myself buying to sell just to make money to buy the figures i actually want.

:)

I've got three focuses going on (yes I'm mad!!) but I've toned down my buying and only getting
relative bargains.

Got my ongoing Jawa focus which is gonna take years as there are so many bloody variations (and expensive ones!!!) My Takara focus and my MOC film release. These are going to go on for a while as I'm skint and they are quite big collections to amass.

I've just got my Han Hoth and diecast focuses (and a loose set plus major variations)

I was going for all ships playsets in their pal boxes, but i ran out of room so I'm selling the lot

Up until a few months ago my main Focus was loose and MOC Yoda figures. I completed my US carded run and decided to move onto foreign versions. Then we found out my wife was pregnant and all the overspending stopped.

My current (less exspensive) focus is putting together a set of MOC film release Empire and Jedi figures. Only need Luke Bespin to complete my ESB line (and it will probably be a while before I can afford one) and still need 14 to complete my Jedi line and I'm happy enough picking those up as I sell items to fund them.

Yeah, well done mate. One of the most impressive focuses I've seen.

Master, you are.

Burnsy - I've got all the main ones but need the TIE Bomber, and I've got a mini focus on Die-cast TIEs and an ESB X-Wing

I used to have a DC TIE as a kid and always loved it :)

Hey, now that's a great photo to see. Great collection mate.
How long you you been buying them for??

cheers Burnsy

I've been buying them for 2 or 3 years, but as there's not that many I try not to pay more than £30 a pop plus £10 a case - it makes collecting more interesting

The ESB X-Wing cost a bit more, but the AFA ones were £30 each

and I almost forgot I've an INT-4 focus too :)

I am a chewie focus collector and (as can be seen in my limelight) i have a fair amount of stuff.

I cannot see this changing for some time although i do from time to time change the direction of the chewie focus. The main part of my chewie focus is MOC's and within this mainly kenner although i do have a few Palitoy as well as other foreign variations.

I also collect loose, loose graded, bootlegs, proofs (cardbacks only know - sold of the bandolier proof and cromalin), boxed bandolier variations and other randon chewie related items.

I decided in december that 2009 was going to have a slight change and want to concentrate on:

1. Completing my kenner run
2. Adding a proof or two where i can
3. Bootlegs - more of these, they are really cool
4. Multipacks.

This will be my main drive for 2009 but who knows what 2010 will bring. This is the main thing i like about figure foci where you can change the direction of the focus as you mood or the market dictates.

Good luck on deciding your next focus or extending your current focus further.

Steve

I'm not really a strict devotee of a single focus. I still have a few 12 backs to get to finish that focus, as well as one 20-21 back. Not in any real rush there, happy enough to wait and see if a bargain comes along, assuming I CBA to bid!
Same for the ROTJ run, not even half way on it but happy to wait, sort of lost interest in all three if i'm honest. The ESB line I pretty much gave up on as soon as I started, still not decided if I'm gonna finish it or flog it.

As for vehicles and foreign carded, if something comes up, I have the cash and I'm interested I'll bid

I dont expect to ever legitimately complete my Luke X Wing MOC focus, most of what im missing are just too damn rare:

Harbert
Clipper 45
POCH ESB
PBP ROTJ
Meccano ROTJ
Parker 3 pack

and a few Kenner cardback variations:

Kenner CND 21 / 32 / 47 (non transition sticker)
Kenner ESB 21d
Kenner ESB 41c
Kenner ESB 41e
Kenner ROTJ with Clipper wrap sticker

Dont get me started on preprodution / QC / mock ups etc
Ill stick with it though

I see we have the some concerns about ever completing a focus.

Finding those rare spanish, german or dutch carded Imperial Commanders seem to be a long, but hopefully succesful hunt. Not to mention pre production stuff.

For my Speeder Bike run, the only production item I´m missing is the white sticker Meccano one.
