Hey guys,

So id thought id pick up a collection of SW novel books bit by bit. As im getting older i feel id like to read more and more, and reading the complete SW novels will keep me going for a long time :)

I know Rich is a huge book fan, so where do i start? Do i go from the Wookepidia listing of books??

Gonna start looking at Ebay now for some books to read :)

I'll tell you what the new novels are quite decent and are canon.

I've read a New Dawn and half way through Kenobi. Both have been good reads. Also got Tarkin next to the bed for when I finish Kenobi which is the book i'm most excited about.

I started in the early 1990's with the Timothy Zahn trilogy; Heir to the Empire, The Last Command & Dark Force Rising. re-read them not too long ago and they're still a good read IMO.

I'd start with the Zahn Thrawn Trilogy. Really liked the New Jedi Order series as well. Have heard Kenobi is good, but not read it yet.

The Thrawn Trilogy is a must mate, read those first, and you will be hooked!
Heir to the Empire .....Dark Force Rising & The last Command, by Timothy Zahn
Sets up around 5 years after ROTJ

Shadows of the Empire is a class read as well

Vector Prime

Darth Bane Trilogy is a brilliant read as well
Path of destruction, rule of two and dynasty of evil

XWing Series is great

I found referencing the timeline was a good idea, as it lets you roughly read in order as there are a few runs of books.

Start with the Thrawn trilogy though bud

Happy reading

You've got two starting places now. The old EU

Or the new canon books which are just starting. By the way, I think Kenobi is legends and not canon. Not 100% sure. It's s good read though.
