hey guys i just bought a squid head figure and noticed that the fingers on the hand that holds the staff are separated, also a few figs ive gotten seem to have craft knife/stanley blade marks on the where there would have been mould bits, im new to vintage collecting is this normal ? any advice is much appreciated thanks.

Hey mate.
You'd be best to post some pics for us to see as it might be nothing out of the ordinary but it does sound like someone has got a little crazy with a blade!

Squidhead has seperate fingers yes. Google vintage squidhead in google images and you will see this.

Sliced marks on vintage figures is very common normally on figures legs. It is called scarring, it is where the coo would have been country of origin. Eg hongkong, taiwan etc. If it a figure leg is pscarred it could of originated from a number of countries, scarred figures are essential to variant collectors or character focus collectors as there are many variants of some particular figures.

hope that makes sense

chris

so the fingers on the right hand where the thumb meets the fingers are normally separated ? by the way the blade mark is on his undercarriage

Put some pics up using Flikr or photo bucket for example, then you'll get the answers your looking for mate.
