That is one of only 15 U90's graded.
Which is probably why it went so high considering there are more than 15 collectors trying to complete U90 sets....

It was not a U90 though, but a regular 90.

Ooh My bad , I don't know why I looked up the U90 scores, I guess that's habit

Ok well then it's one of one. (only 90 AFA graded so far )

So there you have it. 8)

That is until the next update, which probably means its not really 1 of 1 as they are so slow at updating the database..

There are so many people out there who want the actual figure in MINT condition. They are not interested in the cardbacks. It's the figures they played with at school, and that's all that matters. Just because many of you guys (and myself included) prefer carded figures, does not mean that collecting loose mint afa graded figures (of which some command a premium), is somewhat strange.

There are many people who want a mint, stiff limbed perfect loose figure with perfect paintwork. Many figures still on cards are not perfect. So, I can certainly see why a loose 90 ds droid would fetch more than an afa 85 carded one with an 85 figure sub (and don't forget the loose one has been graded from all angles too!)

It is horses for courses folks. Surely you guys can see this? :?

I dont think its strange at all, its perfect sense to want a pristine figure from your childhood, its just the amounts that they are fetching that are facinating, i personally wouldnt give a toss if it had a few light specks, like you said, a carded figure can get an 80 grade ect.

I wouldnt pay anywhere near that sort of money, but obviously some people will, hell...i might start looking for loose mint DSD's to grade lol, it would certainly help with my funds for a VC moc jawa.

Correct. Try finding a loose ungraded ds droid for sale now that would grade afa 90? Near impossible, hence the high price for a mint graded one.

Fair play to you for finding one in such good nick and for getting that amount for it when you sold it. It does seem like an excessive amount to pay for a DSD, but then I've spent more on MOC's so I can't really say much.
Each to their own I guess!
