Had an offer accepted on a house last week. It has a loft conversion that will be for all my boy stuff. So it looks like I get to display my palitoys at last!

Awesome news mate!Looking forward to seeing what Dengar Moc you have amongst your hoard!

Cool! 8)

Looking forward to the pictures. Now you just gotta decide how you are gonna display them all!

Jason, great news and like the others cant wait to see the new set up.

Be careful though as attics (even converted) are renowned for dramatic changes in temperature and humidity which coudl damage your collection.

That's true Steve. I used to use a small oil radiator which had an LCD screen and a temp sensor. I set it so it wouldn't drop below 10 degrees in winter and in summer you could open the velux windows if there are any. The remaining condensation can be dealt with using the granules and collectors you can get off ebay or from caravan centres for not too much dosh.

Thats great news mate looking forward to the display pictures.

As the others have said loft conversions / attics are one of the worst rooms to display / store your collection i knew a guy who put his AFA graded MOC's in his loft for 6 months when he went back up to check them out they were totally wrecked. Simon posted some very good advice and there is a lot of protective measures out there if you plan to use this environment. I would defo take the time to do a full assessment on the room conditions (consider seasonal changes as well) and make sure you have it set up properly before moving anything valuable up there.

****, I have loads of stuff in my loft

I need to get up there and have a sort out. God knows where I'll put it otherwise though.

Thanks for the advice guys. The seller mentioned that it got very hot up there in the summer.

Can you get temperature controlled display cases?

I'm also planning on puitting a games centre and some lazyboys up there so I'll need air con for the whole room too I guess.

Jason

sounds like some better insulation may be useful, that will cut the cost down for you when getting the air con sorted

i used to keep all mine in the loft. Dont do it temperature changes to much. AFA cases get condensation in them. Also to hot in the summer. The tapes on MISB dry out and lift
