R2 Sensorscope and Rem Limbs 3P0 completely replaced the original versions of the figures..

Even though rem limbs 3P0 was film and scene specific to ESB he must have been deemed a superior model to the original because you could pull his limbs off lol (I still prefer the one you can't pull apart)

R2 I kinda get because the addition of the sensorscope just makes the figure more realistic to the movies and he looks cool but 3P0 was just an outfit change like all the other main characters yet they continued to make Farmboy Lukes right up till ROTJ :roll:

It was not an outfit change. You can't tell them apart when the removable limbs version is assembled. If you look at it that way it's just a C3PO with an extra accessory.

Which figure do you prefer though? Even as a kid I hated the rem limbs one because I was always losing his limbs and that bag was really dorky (don't think I ever actually put it on Chewbacca)

I still see it as a costume change because of the feature relating to a scene in the movie (just like Hoth Han, Luke , etc etc- these are all changes to the figure made because of a scene in the movies)

I prefer the original, but I prefer the original R2 too.

If you look at it like that, the R2 sensorscope is a costume change too as he was only revealed to have one in ESB if I recall correctly.

Yes you are right I think, he had a few gadgets in New hope but not the sensorscope thingy, well there we have it - to me they are costume changes that completely replaced the original versions yet all the other original costumes for the main characters were re-released 100 million times :mrgreen:

As a kid I only had removeable limbs C3P0 and bog standard R2. I have no memory of the bag 3P0 came with so I assume it got lost sharpish.

I'd say now that I prefer the original C3P0 but I don't really have any preference on R2.

I prefer both originals. Really dislike the cardbacks of both replacements.
The originals looks superb moc.

Fairly sure the sensorscope was included so you could find your 3 3/4" luke on the Ice Planet Hoth playset
