That's one expensive piece of cardboard but the price they have the Kenner ones up for is just being insane!

Funnily enough, I've been waiting to post the following link, but wanted to leave enough time so as I wasn't accused of outing any auctions too early. I watched a load of Toltoys cardback auctions last weekend:

I quite fancied a few myself, but they went for a lot more than this naive collector expected. I decided it was better to sit this one out and learn a little more before shelling out that sort of dough on a piece of cardboard!

What do people reckon? Is that the going rate for Toltoys cardbacks? The one thing that really threw me was a Kenner 12 back Leia card going for £169! Now even I'm sure that's not right

Yeah most of the Aussie collectors where watching these with a lot of interest, hopefully they have been posted out by now but considering the prices I'mm not sure there would be much back-dooring going on.

In total just the Toltoys carbacks collectively sold for over $8,000 Au which is incredible, that Leia 12 back is no ordinary one. If you look at the back of the card you will notice the white sticker converting the sizes from imperial to metric. One VERY rare Toltoys sticker indeed hence the price.

The new lot that are listed at the moment are trying to take advantage of the recent sale, I'd say they are listing a stupid price to try and attract a high offer. Nice seeing so much Toltoys tuff for sale in one hit.

Ah ha  Cheers BlueDog, consider me enlightened.
It took me a while to come to terms with the prices for MOC; think I need to let the shock of these prices sink in for a little while yet...

No problem dude, there's a lot to learn with vintage especially when you start talking about different foreign items. While the prices of these are high you need to consider what they would be worth as a MOC to gain some perspective as to why some people would pay this amount for a cardback.

Toltoys MOC's come up for sale on places like Ebay very rarely so when they do they command a good price, the early cards with the Toltoys Logo even less so. The last Toltoys 12 back MOC I saw sell on ebay went for roughly $6,500 and in my time collecting I've only seen two in total for sale on Ebay.
