I just spent half an hour browsing the Showcase section for the first time in ages, and I'm truly amazed by the quality of some of the stuff in there. I've always liked the fact this forum is pretty modest with very few ego trippers like over on RS, but there have been some seriously cool additions of late, that could compete with any of the 'big boys' on various forums. Some highlights for me include:

Palitoy ROTJ AFA 90 set - this has got to be one of the most impressive runs I've ever seen! Absolute mintiness
Fiscally Responsible Collection - great to see that money isn't the most important factor for a great display

So I just wanted to say an all-round congratulations to everybody for putting together such an amazing set of stuff 8)

I agree

Ryan's collection stands out for me too as I think it looks ace - there is such a great mix of cards and manufacturers - and unless you look very closely, you wouldn't be able to tell there was much up with any of them - and he has put this together over a relatively short space of time as well

I think one of the best things about the showcase section is seeing the various collections grow. I have been privileged to see both Neil's (Jackabina) and Jez's in the flesh a number of times and it has been great to see the new additions come in. You can also see people's changes of direction and focus's come and go

We have some great collections between us and I think that it is fantastic to see all the pictures of them

There's got to be a joke in there about seeing mine in the flesh Iain
If Iain took pic's of his entire collection, his camera would blow up!
Some mine toy's out there boys :D

Yea there's some amazing stuff in that section I'm going to spend some time looking now as I got finished from work early ;).

As soon as I move I will do one.

Such great focuses out there and I agree that Fiscally Responsible Collection is one I often look back at.......well that and anything with Palitoy in the title!! :D

The variety of the limelights is fantastic. Whilst I can drool over the truly stellar items, what I really like is the all jumbled in 'toy store' style displays and man cave rooms full of goodies. Quite honestly, I just enjoy looking at all the showcases! The enthusiasm is unanimous, regardless of value, just great to see everyone taking pride in thier collections.

Agreed, there's some awesome limelights on here. I think there's several for every type of vintage collectibles going.
I think my top three must be Gary's, Todds and Grants which I've spent too long looking at when I should be working!
It's also great to see a collection starting off slowly and taking shape.

Thanks for the kind words fellas, it's a bloody dangerous part of the forum full of great ideas and items you want in your own collection.

A few stand out for me are:

Jez : Love the way you have your collection set out mate it's an inspiration for my own and headed me down the style I'm aiming for now.

Grant : your collection is the ducks guts, loove all of the displays and weird and wonderful merchandise associated with the SW craze back in the days. For me some of that stuff brings back memories that even the toys can't.

Todd : your collection is epic, kid in a toys store type of thrill! Looking forward to when it's all back on display in your new home.

And finally for sheer effort Iian's MOC set is mind blowing. Love being able to see it grow on the forum and watch you get ever closer to the complete set. A feat only few of us could have the determination to do.

So many more great collections in there, worth a mention each and every one of em.

Agreed, there is a lot of great collections on this forum and they all display well :D

Keep up the good work guys

I love the variety we have on this forum. As for my collection...the new room build begins soon. The room will have the appearance of one of the rooms on a Star Destroyer with that great Kenner.....and Palitoy flavor.

Hey edd, thanks for the kind words on my AFA 90 run. Not even what I consider to be one of my best focus!

:)

Jason

I agree. Some very cool collections. Wish i had an actual room to keep mine in like you guys do, instead of the attic
