My best little pal George our ten year old Cavalier King Charles, had to be put to sleep today, I don't mind admitting, I've been blabbing like a baby.

My little mate brought so much joy and happiness to our family, will really miss him.
We lost our other cavalier back in Nov, and he's never been right since, today though he was really bad, took him to the vet to be told what I already knew in my heart, it was a heart rending thing to do, but it was the best for my pal, I couldn't see him suffer.

Sorry for posting, but I will miss him like hell, irreplaceable ! Thanks for being my best mate George, sleep in peace pal :D

Sorry to hear your sad news mate. Dog's aren't pets, they're more like your children and it's heart braking to lose them, I've been there a few times myself. Once again, sad sad news :(

Sorry to hear this mate, take care and remember the good times you had with him, theres no shame in crying over a lost loved one

Ah **** - as you know we lost a dog recently too. It's the downside of owning pets, the attachment you get when things go wrong. 10 years for a King Charles is a fairly good innings though - and on a bright side it won't have to listen to your poetry nonsense any longer.

Thanks guys for all the kind words. It was hard to to what we had to do, but that guilt is tempered by realising it was the best thing for our pal and not to be selfish, it is all about the best thing for him, when he had given up, and wanted to go.

Thanks lads :D

Luckily for our pets euthanasia isn't a problem issue - unlike us humans...

Always the right thing mate - but I know what you mean regarding guilt - been there

As others have said try and focus on the 10 happy years you had him in your lives,
You did the kindest thing you could do for a friend in pain, so sorry for you pal.

Really sorry for the loss of your best pal George  I know he was suffering of late and you did your best to try and get him back on the mend but you've done the right thing, the unselfish thing and let him go to a place where he'll be free from pain and suffering so no need to feel guilty.

Will never forget the great pics you took of him that had the kids in stitches, particularly the first pic and I hope you don't mind me posting up a pic of him now (let me know and I'll take it down).

RIP George

Cheers Stephen

That's fine mate, I've been looking at pics of him and having a blub
He was a one off, and have some fantastic memories ....he is not suffering now and in a better place.

Sorry to hear about this Mike. Love dogs but we don't have one. Always happy to see you. Always up for a laugh. Always got time for you ....not like bloody cats! Man's best friend for sure :)

Sorry to hear this mate.....pets bring so much happiness and comfort in our busy complicated lives. They never judge you and are alwaya happy to see you.
