Ripped off on postage on eBay

I have just been royally screwed on postage on eBay.
I just won 3 loose figures which were priced at 1:99 postage each but the seller refused to offer a discount on postage, so I have ended up with a postage bill of 5:97 of 3 loose battered figures. I have spoken to eBay and they said I am in my right to report him on breach of policy but is it really worth it for a few quid?
Has this happened to anyone else??

LOTS of times. I usually just message them there must have been a mistake as the postage on the parcel is less than what I paid for. Just give him a way out without losing face. There's always the implied threat of giving negative feedback. He probably won't want to risk that over £4.

Yeah this happened to me recently and i wouldn't have any of it. It was only a case of 1.99 but it was the principal of the thing. He even sent the invoice when i requested it with adjustments for shipiing saying the items would be shipped together yet the postage was double.
Here's the whole incident form another forum when it happened. Excuse the language but i was pretty pissed about it. The seller is called 123-donna86. I got my way in the end.

I just received a revised invoice of postage 4:97 after I told him I had spoken to eBay and I was in the right. I still think his revised offer takes the piss. He tried to tell me they were allrealy all individually packed and ready to go. Does he think I'm stupid?? Even if they are , how hard is it to repak 3 loose figures? I might pay and if they don't all arrive in separate packages threaten to leave him negative feedback.
Sorry for the rant but when people blatantly take the piss on eBay it really annoys me.

That's a load of cobblers. I would say it cost about £1.20 to post one figure and about an extra 30-50p per extra figure. To send three figures should cost about £2-2.50.
It may only seem a trivial amount but it is the principle. Why do people think they can profiteer from postage? It's not fair you have to waste your time and chase him up, so you should:
NEG HIM!!!

I agree really, even if its a couple of quid here and there it all adds up, lets face it postage is the one thing none of us like paying
for our toys, the more it is the less of a good deal you end up getting.

Anyone that lists figures and wraps them all up individually ready to ship is a moron- I don't believe it for a second, you know someone
is gonna win 2-3 figures or more and in turn that saves you bother wrapping up more packages and sending them all out to different locations.

Good for you if you get him to change the postage- Either do what Emi said and wait for it to arrive, take pictures of the real postage
and then get in contact with ebay over or it just refuse to pay it and say - its a neg or revise the postage costs.

1.99 or more per ebay customer on 10,20 + figures = richer seller and thats the only reason he wants an extra couple of quid for a figure.

Yeah, as the others have said he is just trying to make a few extra quid. Don't let him. Tell him if you're paying £4.97 (and I don't think you should) you want them all to arrive individually packed and nuclear bomb proof.
Three loose figures shouldn't cost anywhere near that.

I paid him last night and told him they better ALL come in individual packages or he gets himself 3 negative feedbacks!!!!!

Not to take sides with the seller...but If he did not offer combined shipping then he has every right to charge what he is charging. Yes I agree he is a doushbag but I always ask before I bid because some of these guys are trying to make a profit off of the backend which is shipping. The only good thing now (For the buyer) is that Ebay does not allow negs from the seller so the buyer now has the upper hand. Sorry playing Devil's Advocate and no I do not charge for shipping like this.

eBay actually told me he was in the wrong unless I receive all separate packages. They said grossly overcharging on postage nomatter what the seller actually quotes is a direct violation of ebays policys. I even saved the transcript incase the seller gets snotty.

Well hopefully it all works out. I got overcharged one time and they told me that it was a binding contract and I better pay up.
I think that maybe eBay is FINALLY getting wise to people pisstaking over postage charging.
Anyone bought a memory card from hong kong for 99p and then paid about £10 postage??
