RIP Keith Flint

This has hit me for six, I still can't believe it. I've been listening to the prodigy since I was 15 and seen them live more than any other band.
I can't imagine what his band mates must be going through right now

****.

First time I saw him was in 1996 at the Phoenix Festival. They played twice that weekend- once on a stage and once in the dance tent. Also remember watching him Glastonbury 2003 in his solo project Flint. Just did a quick Youtube search and Wow! the 90's was so much better than todays mainstream. Sad news.

They were the first band I ever saw. They played the Colchester Hippodrome on 11th October 1991 not longer after Charlie and Everybody in the Place were released on single. It was an under 18 event and it was awesome. The only thing we'd heard was the What Evil Lurks EP as it was before the 1992 release of The Prodigy Experience. It was just Liam Howlett mixing on stage and both Keith Flint and Leeroy Thornhill dancing much like they do in the Out of Space (It was way before DJ Maxim joined the band). Saw them a couple of other times including at V Festival in 1997. Good times. Will be sorely missed

Very sad news, Experience is definitely one of my favourite albums, and contrary to most peoples opinion I think their best. I have seen them live a few times and must admit as they gradually transitioned from rave to rock I lost interest with each new album, but it's still a shame.

Experience is awesome

There some nice early live sets from 91/92 on youtube. I have a mp3 live set i can sent you at somepoint from 1992.

But suicide...

They were touring this year and headlining glastonbury. And from what ive heard he gave alot of time to fans and was very friendly. I wonder what drove him over the edge. You just dont know whats going on behind people eyes. They say 1 in 3 people are depressed and dont say anything about it.

I read he was going through a bad divorce and his wife was taking everything. He had to sell his home which he adored.
What an absolute tragedy.

Really sad news, was never into the Prodigy really. But admired their songs, they were a huge part of some classic sounds of my youth. RIP

Loved the first 3 albums. Jilted Generation is a masterpiece. Saw them at Tribal Gathering in the mid nineties. Some idiot jumped on stage and knocked over their keyboards etc. Poor guy didn't last too long!

So, sad. RIP.

I was quite shocked to hear this, he was only 49. It's sad. He was a rager, a punk rocker. The Prodigy were huge in the 90's and very unique. I saw them several times and Glastonbury 95 was one of the best shows I've ever seen. A great 30 year career. RIP Keith.
