I think anyone who was brought up on 2000AD and Battle would know what a truly outstanding artist this man was, he was an inspiration for me as a child to draw and I can remember tracing his art work to make my own pictures of my favourite characters .

With his amazing rendition's of Strontium Dog, Durham Red, ABC Warriors and Dredd when he began drawing Apocalypse War and many other titles . The art was so good and gritty that you did actually believe that the action of the story was going on right in front of you like you was watching a film.

A very sad loss

I totally forgot to post this here, such an icon from my childhood and right up to the last minute he was still producing work for 2000AD. Big fan of his work and it was both a shock and really sad to hear the news.

He will be missed by many but at least his work and the memory of him will live on.

R.I.P. Carlos, the picture in 2000AD this week of Dredd with a tear says it all.
