Have any of you ever considered using any of the box inserts offered on eBay? I mean only from the point of view of protecting the toy, and preserving the shape of the box. Thoughts please

Personally I think they are a great idea for maintaining the box shape and holding the item securely in place and preventing potential box damage. Obviously I wouldnt be too delighted to purchase something and find replacement inserts rather than original, however if stated in any potential sale and price marked down accordingly then I feel they would make an item more attractive to purchase than a comparable item without the replacement inserts. Thems my 2 cents anyways! :)

I got Ewok village inserts and dont have any regrets. They are very well made, fit perfectly and have allowed me to store my village securely and help the box keep a good shape.

I have no intention of selling it on but if I do then I would let the buyer know that they are repro. Have also recently acquired a Falcon box that is missing inserts, will be buying them too.

I know we all bang on about repro but inserts are so hard to come by, unless you fork out full whack for a complete item, which isnt always possible.

I would reccomend them Neil.

I've looked into it mate.

I think they are great for strengthening and protecting the box.

I would write 'Repro' on them somewhere discrete in case you sell them on.

I agree with all comments above, but strongly think that the inserts will have an "unseen" side and on this should be written in big letters "reproduction".

Unfortunately there will always be people who will sell these on as having original inserts. My advice, buy them use them and write reproduction on them in a place where it can't be hidden or cut out.

You know, the seller should mark them as repro. As long as he doesn't do that, he's scum to me.

Agree totally - repro inserts are hard to spot once they've got a bit of shelfwear. Once someone can perfect the number printing we're in trouble

I've bought them in the past just to stop the toy from moving about & they help to keep the boxes shape & whenever I've sold them,I've always wrote "REPRO" on them in big letters with permanent black marker!

I agree with Emiel & Andy though, the seller Darren SHOULD mark them as REPRO! :D

Yea Defiantly They are Just Repro at the End of the day.

gonna buy a set for my boxed xwing they will keep the box square and also stop it getting damaged by the xwing itself ! , plus i will mark the inserts in black felt tip !

Surely these replacement inserts cannot be mistaken as original can they ?

Just send that he will be marlin them from now on, better late than never but he should have done this a long time ago

I guess sales were dropping ;)

Defo 100% agree with marking the copies up as repro!

I got the Cantina Adventure Set repro insert from this guy a few years ago, it was a great little buy as it is not easy to find the original insert for sale on it's own! That particular box really needs the insert for strength and to keep it's shape nice. As I say it was a great stop gap until I found an original :D
