This is horrible news. He was only 54. Like millions of other 'Friends' fans around the world, I first became aware of Matthew Perry in that show playing Chandler Bing, a role he certainly made his own. Chandler was easily my favourite character, and it was completely thanks to Perry's performance and the great writing, which he often helped with himself. He was extremely talented, but also a troubled individual who battled addiction in his life. He was taken far too soon and will be much missed.

Rest in peace.
