My son has 3 PS3 wireless controllers. They are all genuine Sony products (2 came with the PS).

One of them stopped charging about a year ago.
Yesterday another one stopped charging - however the PS3 recognises it as an unknown USB device. Tried to reset them both but nothing.

Any ideas?

I'm assuming the first one is completely dead. The one that is recognised suggests a software issue?
The 3rd controller is charging and working fine.

Cheers
Richard

Have you searched Google rich? I had something similar where my ps3 wouldn't recognise the controller. Can't remember how I fixed it but I got the answer off Google

No. Mine was something different than that. One of my controllers had gone flat and due the the way I switched it on the machine wouldn't recognise it. It just kept flashing on the back. Managed to sort it by re-assigning the controllers.

Many years ago a friend of mine used to throw my Super Nintendo controller across the room when he lost. Throwing your own **** at the wall is one thing, throwing another's ..well that's something else

Glad you sorted it in the end Rich

Jesus, you northerns truly are savages!

Have you really smashed them Rich?

I had a group of mates who shared a rented house together. There were 5 of them and they used to play a lot of pro evo on a PS2. One of them had such a temper he had to have his own controller. He always used to have 2 available as he quite regularly smashed the one he was using in rage. In the end he used to keep a broken one next to him so when he lost he could put the good one down and pick up the broken one and vent his frustration by throwing it or smashing it on something.
