Hi guys,

This may be slightly off topic, but I have been trying for ages to get a vintage SW poster printed for a load of guys on here and keep hitting hurdles!

I now have a 112MB image saved as a TIFF file but every online poster print place wants them smaller than 50MB or as a jpeg, png, doc file etc...

I know nothing about all this stuff but I don't want the quality of the image to be ruined or downgraded. The local print shop printed one and its okay, but I think the quality can be better!!

Any help, ideas?

Anyone do this for a living?

Liam, its honestly getting a joke, I tried getting it uploaded to 3 sites today and none of them would take it.

The guy up the road did a decent enough job and maybe its gonna be the best scenario and quality but as you know I only want the best!

I WILL get there!

I may even send you the poster I have and see what you think??

June is in the printing business so may be able to offer up good advice :?:
 
Save it as the highest file size you can as a jpeg. That will bring it to under 50mb . I send artwork for mags, posters, billboards all as jpegs with mo loss of quality. You would not be able to tell the diffrrence between a tiff or jpeg after printing anyway.

Bram glad it worked out for you, I had a someone on deck in sad it didn't work out, he can print big files like that. Did you look at a proof of the poster? Is is nice a clean and clear? Let me know how much your charging for the poster? I might be interested in one or you could just send me a copy of the file? So I can have my boy print one up for me.

Hi buddy.

It's in the sales thread. To be honest I've worked very hard and inbthe end I had to call inns big favour from a guy who photographs packaging for big companies and he used his high quality camera.

Thus is why it's an 112MB Tiff file.

The posters are available in the FS thread if your interested.

I dont feel it will be fair to others if I just sent you the image buddy.
