Based on remarks in other threads and on RS I think it's fair to say that prices are on an unusual rise at the moment. And it seems to be affecting all levels of the community from that 12B Luke Proof (£10k!!) right down to MOCs, and to loose figs that not so long ago you could pick up for £5-10. Although, that's not to say you still can't find a bargain, it's just harder.
My belief is that interest has largely increased because of the new films and that this time next year prices for vintage will be astronomical in comparison to say, a year ago.
What I think will be interesting too is how the merchandise from the new film will do - especially if EPVII is not a piece of dogshit like EP1. God, I hope they don't bring billions of poorly sculpted freak figs (I'm looking at you red cards!).
