Just bought an Bespin Guard and I now not sure whether it is authentic or not - the bubble seems too small compared to other examples I have seen? Please help - TIA!

I saw that auction im unsure if its resealed the bit of the seal on the right hand side
at arm level is suspect.

Also the figure plastic is badly degraded the torso colour has changed and the gold trim
has turned green which is the paint breaking down.

Thanks for your replies. It was bought from albob67.

Apart from the slightly suspect right hand side the card doesn't have any flaws to suggest another bubble was in place.

Well apart from that odd discolouration on the torso (which I have never ever seen before) you are correct about the bubble being smaller than some but that appears to just be the "cut" of the bubble at the top, sometimes the plastic wasn't cut exactly the same and the bubbles are positioned slightly differently (higher / lower) from card to card.

I will check my MOC later and see if I can help further, first signs of the seal and bubble look ok though, just not too sure on the figure

This is mine (bad picture) which shows a much higher bubble cut, the width seems the same and as I said the seal , foot card etc on yours all seem ok.

If need be I can take better pictures later on :)

His figure does look a bit more "snug" in there doesn't it , will take a good look after 6 tonight when my camera is charged up.

Hopefully you haven't been done over! (seeing the recard posts on FFURG yesterday and how good some are it makes you wonder..)

Like i said it looks OK its just that little bit on the right hand side.

The other factor is you don't often see figures with that level of plastic degeneration MOC
its usually loose beaters which have had little protection over the years. Saying that though
some MOC figures have degraded figures as well.

I think its the fact that the gold trim has not followed the trend of either staying the same and attached or falling off, I have never seen one with some funky green/blue colour to it loose or moc.

Also the seller is probably shady at best what with his one footed lando baggies..

Phreatobite, can you please tell us what COO the card has or just stick up a picture of the cardback.

If it differs in origin to mine then it's not wise to compare bubbles as they could have been different from factory to factory.

Also, can you turn the pictures the right way up I am getting neck ache

It looks ok to me too, although I freely admit to not being an expert on recards. I just noticed the difference in the bubbles and thought it worth pointing out. As Joe says it could be due to different card backs etc.

It is exactly the same COO + cardback as mine, so will get you the bubble pictures later on tonight mate.

Will take as many as possible and of the seal, sure there are a few people on the boards with graded examples who could do the same.

I know Marc has one!

General mills with a double stem bubble so it can't be used for comparison  (plus it was yours in the first place so you should have remembered lol )

Ok this isn't great but took a few shots here, light is bad so will take some better tonight.

The bubble on mine is SIGNIFICANTLY bigger than the one you just bought, so much so that I took a shot to show how much I can rattle the figure around inside the bubble :

The right image was it being tilted, you can see it leans to one side, it is not held in place by the bubble an can move somewhat freely if angled.

I also just took a look at the one that Lee is currently selling in the classifieds, his is exactly the same type as mine, wider and taller than yours and enough room inside for the figure to move around.

I wouldn't say its concrete evidence that its been replaced but its definitely different to two original ones.

I am getting more suspicious of the bubble having been replaced. If it is, it's nigh-undetectable.

On the other hand, why would someone would put so much effort into a 31-back card that has a lot of marks/damage.
