I've just been contacted by Paypal about the fake tusken raider I bought. They've said I need to return it using a service with online tracking. Does recorded signed for suffice? - delivery is confirmed online. Or do I need to use a more expensive service.

The seller still refuses to accept it was a fake, and would only give me a Spanish address to return it to (even thought his auction said UK based).

Paypal has got his UK address for me, which is good :D

On your ebay e-mail saying that you had won etc would be the sellers registered address, is that in the UK or Spain?

I can't remember what his address was on that email??, but as Paypal is telling me to post to a UK address, my guess is that it was probably a UK one.

I've looked on the Royal Mail website and recorded is technicaly tracked, its just it looks like its only tells you if its arrived, not if its sent - paypal say they need proof thats its sent.

Special delivery does both but costs a bit more..

I just wondered whether anyone had been in this situation before? The only other time I claimed the seller didn't bother responding so I got my money back and a recard :D

Once the recorded delivery item is posted - then I would suggest the item has proof of being sent as you have a reference number that can be tracked online.

Whilst I haven't been in exactly the same position as you when I have returned things I have always sent them back recorded - although the sellers have always refunded me without the need to involve paypal.

Cheers Andy

I think I'll go for recorded - any other option and I may as well have sent it to Spain

Always keep your e-mails stored in a folder until the item arrives and you are happy with it before you delete them !!

I keep the paypal receipts but delete the ebay ones - I see them as a bit more important
