I don't know if any of you have seen these Palitoy adverts/posters before I certainly hadn't.

Love the fact that Luke X-Wing Pilot calls R5, Death Star Droid and Power Droid his 'Droid Buddies' and that Greedo is called 'Green Greedo'

Only ever seen a couple of them online before, love how creative the Palitoy ad people were - love the fact that 3PO is holding a massive rifle (ooer).

There great and so cheesy.

What a competition prize, a day out at Elstree studios whilst ESB is being filmed and meet the stars, that would have been one lucky kid :D Liam probably won it

Great post Stormtrooper37
I'll second that, June! A real blast from the past for me... I'm guessing these appeared in the UK editions of Star Wars Weekly and other related publications?

Thinking back, Greedo was always given his 'full title' amongst my circle of friends... obviously due to the power of Palitoy advertising. And I distinctly remember drawing a droid and cutting out the coupon to send off for the 'day of filming The Empire Strikes Back'. I was convinced I'd be a winner, and waiting by the letterbox as a kid was the result of those weeks following: waiting for that call. It never came

Check out David Tree's Palitoy Advert Archive DVD: http://forum.rebelscum.com/t1005413/

I don't know if he has any left though.

I wanted to get a copy of this but the guy never replied...
...BUT, looking at the photo of the screen on the RS thread it appears I have a copy as some nice fella sent me a copy along with some vintage stuff I won on eBay!

Already done mate  Congrats on your Green Saber 8)

Cool ads. Sure i've seen stuff like this in the various SW comics. They're great. Something a bit different 8)

some of these would make great framed prints.... clean them up a little bit, nice card stock or something....

but then would that make them frowned upon bootlegs/repros???

These are great, excellent artwork. Love 3PO going 'Don't call me a namby-pamby' in the 2nd one.
