In meeting today from 09:30 to 12:30. Had a little look at the Vectis auctions around 12:00. I'd bid on a few items last night as I knew I wouldnt be able to bid live. (Put 180 on the Empire store sign and got blown out the water) To make matters worse having not used the app on the iPhone before I accidently bid £280 on the Palitoy tie pilot and won it.

With the commission is come in at £350. Is that a good price for this or have I ****ed up, checked Ebay and couldn't find one in completed items for comparison.

In average condition I'd say £180-£200. Yours is nicer than that, so maybe £220-£240 on a good day.

Sorry :)

I'd say that this is right on the money too  But the TIE fighter pilot is a desirable figure, so to have an ESB Palitoy MOC could work in your favor with the prices at the moment. He looks fantastic though, so my best advice is, if that's the one you really wanted - just enjoy it, and not worry too much about the cost.

We've all overpaid for something I'm sure - I certainly have on a couple of things but I don't think you'll loose out.

If this new film shapes up to be as promising as that second trailer indicated, values on vintage are surely set to rise, as they are currently, especially MOC's. So given a few months you might be seeing this figure reach the price you paid for it.

I don't think it's a good price, but I don't think it's overly un reasonable for the time. Remember, you outbid someone so it got that high for a reason...others are obviously willing to pay near that amount.

You have to just accept the vectis premium and not include that as the value of the figure, so at £280 it seems a little more reasonable.

And there's a good chance prices will rise further. So what may be slightly high now may be appear to be a great price this time next year.

Ultimately do you like owning the figure?

If so then a little over paying shouldn't detract from that

An expensive mistake and one I won't make again lol. Gonna keep him as a reminder.

Yeah, I'm with Rich - it might be a slight over pay but having seen what 'foreign' cards are going for at the moment (my new countrymen love them) then I am sure it will realize that sort of cash at some point (soon) in the future

There might be another buyer, kicking himself for not going the extra £20 to win it. Beautiful moc, by the way. ;-)
