What is Paypal's protected method of sending parcels overseas from the uk. Is international signed for sufficent or do i need to upgrade to a better service to be PP covered?

Cheers

Im not sure what Paypal accepts as they have at times both accepted and denied International Signed For as proof of delivery we all know they make it up as the go along at times.

The royal mail choices are -

International Signed for = a signature at the other end + Compensation for loss or damage

Or

Royalmail Airsure = Online tracking and delivery confirmation + Up to £500 compensation However its not signed for.

The problem is if you want to send something at a higher tier than International Sign for or Airesure then you are talking serious money and need to explore the private courier options, parcel force etc etc.

I once got a parcelforce Global Express quote to send an item fully insured tracked and signed for to the U.S and they wanted over 60gbp! for one graded MOC in a normal size box!

I had only looked into it as the buyer had some suspect feedback in the end i managed to pull out the sale and low and behold his feedback showed he had screwed some other UK sellers later in the month who had opted for international signed for.

PP cover is the seller making sure he has full insurance in case of loss in the post, as its not the buyers responsibility until it crosses his doorstep.

bottom line is always get a proof of delivery (signed for) and always get insurance. if it goes missing its up to you to claim for your loss.

The buyer has a legal right to demand his money back if the item doesnt reach his house in an acceptable time, and he doesnt have to wait for your claim to be granted ect.

Always cover yourself

Yeah get signed for, BUT beware of Paypal. I have had 4 parcels go "missing" overseas in the last month. I have proof they were sent, the buyers didn`t want to pay the extra for all the bells and whistle postage even though I gave them the option and guess who Payapl has found in favour of? Them!!!!

I really have had enough of shipping overseas, the time, hassle and the launguage barrier if things go wrong just piss me off too much.

When it comes to ebay Dom tracking and insurance is purely there for the sellers benefit NOT the buyers.

Cheers for the input guys.

It is my intention to send the loose figure via royal mail international signed for but wanted to check if it is Paypal covered just to be on the safe side as it is ebay after all

Paypal wont cover anything, all they will do is tell you to claim off the postal company, if you had no proof of delivery they would just refund the buyer.

International signed for is insured, or you can pay for additional insurance if its worth a lot so you will be covered if it goes missing.

If it did go missing which is doubtful you would need to refund the buyer and then start a claim yourself with royal mail.
