Hi I recently posted for some advice as I'm a Star Wars ignorant wife trying to buy her Star Wars fan hubby a surprise 40th Birthday present . Thank you for all of your help . I wondered if I could ask a quick question - Does anyone know of the website ' Originalstormtroopers.com'. ? I've seen some good items but not sure if the website is trustworthy or not ? Just wondered if anyone had used them before ?
Thanks ... once again !

There are some members on here who are part of the 501st UK Garrison which is basically a group of Star Wars enthusiasts who attend events in high quality costumes. They might be able to offer some advice on this website although not sure if they are on the forum that often?

Anyone?

Hi

I've never bought from the website, but the armour and helmets on here for example are made from the original SDS moulds (Shepperton Design Studios) who produced the helmets etc for the first SW film.

As Mumbo says the 501st garrison are the best guys to rubber stamp for you.
There are a few members on here that are part of 501st, hopefully the y will chip in

Are you thinking of buying a Stormtrooper Helmet ? 8)

I'm not sure what I'm thinking of buying yet - The things you do for love eh !
Thanks again for all your help

Hi,

There's actually a lot of controversy around Andrew Ainsworth and SDS. Basically as I understand it he claimed to have sculpted the Stormtrooper armour and helmet (I think he even claimed to have sculpted Vaders Helmet as well) Most of the evidence that is available points to a lady called Liz Moore. By all accounts he's a bit of a shady character (I lurk on TheRPF)

If you want a truly awesome Stormtrooper helmet I would go with RSProps. They have a helmet that is cast straight off an original helmet, it has all the lumps and bumps that the originals did. The SDS helmet is nice but I do prefer the RSprops one, I met the guys at Memorabilia last year, tops guys and got to hold the Stormtrooper bucket (it is wicked)
